Emily and Jonathans covered wagon, driven by Tigger and Spirit the horse.

Week1 of Little House on the Prairie, so much to learn and so much fun. We learned about their covered wagon ride from Pepin Wisconsin, to the Prairie, just 10 miles or so from Independence Kansas. We learned about Spanish numbers and colors and seasons- El Otono- autumn! We learned about Laura murmuring in her heart, we drew pictures of Pet and Patty , the Mustangs that PA got for them. We had pancakes, with syrup instead of molasses (the Ingalls had molasses), we made dumplings and we learned first aid, when Ma sprained her ankle, we took turns being the "injured" and having ankles wrapped up with ace bandage.  We made our own cardboard box "covered wagons" and the boys did lots of Multiplication. Emily is reading alot on  her own now, she started in Genesis 1 a few months ago, and shejust passed Chapter 3 and Adam and Eve.  We have lots of plums right now, so I am gonna attempt to make plum butter and some plum preserves today.

Ladies retreat: It was nice. Good messages from our speaker. I met 2 new friends and it SNOWED!!!! It was so beautiful to see the snow on the trees the next morning, but then I remembered it was September 29!!!! Too early for SNOW!
