Meant to Live

                                      Meant To Live

by, Switchfoot

Fumbling his confidence
And wondering why the world has passed him by
Hoping that he's bent for more than arguments
And failed attempts to fly, fly

[Chorus]
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside
Somewhere we live inside
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside

Dreaming about Providence
And whether mice or men have second tries
Maybe we've been livin with our eyes half open
Maybe we're bent and broken, broken

[Chorus]

We want more than this world's got to offer
We want more than this world's got to offer
We want more than the wars of our fathers
And everything inside screams for second life, yeah

We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live
We were meant to live

Well......

we just got home from Awana awhile ago.  It was an ok night. (Sometimes it's kind of chaotic)  The kids in my group were nice and calm (Which is very unusual).  One of the girls in my group finished her Skipper book tonight.  She was so happy.  It was adorable.  The skit that we did was shorter than the usual ones we do.  I just remembered this morning that I had to write the skit. My friend, who was supposed to write it, had some kind of concert for band.  And he couldn't make it.  Inspiration did not pop into my head like it usually does so I had to look for one on the internet.  It took me awhile to find one that would work for our group.  I finally found one that was good enough.  It said that it would take about seven minutes to perform.  It actually took about three minutes to perform.  :)  As we all exited the room we heard a little kid say "That was short!".  My team, green team, won!  They were so good at lining up and sitting quietly that we got a lot of extra points.  If they didn't give us points for that we probably would have lost.  They didn't do that great in the actual games tonight. :) ttyl.

The Hand Song

The Hand Song
by, Nickel Creek

The boy only wanted to give Mother something
And all of her roses had bloomed
Looking at her as he came rushing in with them
Knowing her roses were doomed
All she could see were some thorns buried deep
And the tears that he cried as she tended his wounds

And she knew it was love
It was one she could understand
He was showing his love
And that's how he hurt his hands

He still remembers that night as child
On his mother's knee
She held him close and she opened her bible
And quietly started to read
And seeing a picture of Jesus he cried out
"Momma, he's got some scars just like me."

And he knew it was love
It was one he could understand
He was showing his love
And that's how he hurt his hands

Now the boy's grown and moved out on his own
When Uncle Sam comes along
A foreign affair, but our young men were there
And luck had his number drawn
It wasn't that long till our hero was gone
He gave to a friend what he learned from the cross

But they knew it was love
It was one they could understand
He was showing his love
And that's how he hurt his hands

It was one they could understand
He was showing his love
And that's how he hurt his hands

My Sister's B-day Party

Today my sister had her birthday party.  We had a lot of fun...except when we played capture the flag.  As usual, it was very chaotic.  Every time we play capture the flag with our friends it ends in arguing.  MAJOR ARGUING!  Basically SCREAMING AT ONE ANOTHER!  But we all agreed to just shut up and pretend it didn't happen.  We also played pickle and elbow tag.  Bailey (my puppy) probably had the most fun today.  She got a lot of love and attention.  She also got a lot of exercise.  Actually, she's soooo tired that she's been laying on her bed since everyone left.  Which is very unusual for her.  She's normally always running around until she has to go to bed.  She's sound asleep.

I got to do nursery in church today!  I was so happy.  I got to do it with two close friends.  We had a blast.

Dare You to Move

Dare You To Move

by, Switchfoot

Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone's here
Everyone's here
Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?

[Chorus:]
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before

Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

[Chorus]

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here

[Chorus]

I didn't mess up!!!

Today was my piano recital.  I was sooooooo nervous.  I had to have my song completely memorized and not use my music.  My turn was second to last out of about 30 students.  They go youngest to oldest.  I didn't mess up!!  At least that anyone could notice. lol.  I was so relieved when it was over.  I played the "Dill Pickles Rag".  Here is a link for the song:  http://www.primeshop.com/ragsmid/dillpikl.mid

Let me know if it doesn't work.

I haven't posted in a week or so because I've been really sick.  I had a fun birthday party last week.  We played a lot of games.  I got some new Switchfoot c-ds and the newest Relient K c-d.  I also got a lot of new board games.  My piano recital is coming up soon.  I'm a little more confident than last time.  But this time I have to have the song memorized.  It's called "Dill Pickles Rag" and it is really fun to play.

What I've Been Up To Lately.......

We saw Narnia again!  I loved it even more than the first time I saw it.  It's such a good movie.  It makes me want to read the whole series again.

I'm learning Ragtime music!  I've always wanted to learn Ragtime songs on the piano ever since I saw the movie "Summer Magic".  And that was before I even started to play the piano.  I asked my teacher if I could try a higher level because I love playing hard music.  My teacher has me doing seven different piano books right now.  Hanon (exercises),  A Dozen A Day #2 (more exercises), Lesson Book, Technique & Artistry, Theory, Popular Repertoire, and Ragtime/Marches (Level: Big Time).  All of the books, except for the exercise books, are in a series called "Piano Adventures" by, Nancy and Randall Faber.  I really like their method and I plan to use their series when I teach piano lessons.  I love piano!

I finished the Left Behind series!!  It was soooooo good!  I'm so glad that I decided to read them.  I'm reading "The Rising-Antichrist is Born"  Which is about the characters lives before they were left behind.  It's very interesting because it really explains why some of the characters turned out the way they did.  I bought the first two books, together, for $3.00 at our library's used book store.  A $50.00 value.  They look like they've never been used.  $3.00 for two books that were made in 2005.

Vow

Vow

by, Kutless

Another year has come and gone
Nothing's changed
I wasted another year
Doing the same old things
I want to break out of this
Turn my life around
I'm going to make a vow
To repent and turn to You

I'm crying out to You now
As I make my New Year's vow
I'll tell You I love You
And I'll honor You somehow
Hear my promise to You in this New Year's vow
I give You all of me
You'll be all of my life
And I'll never think twice
To do all that You have for me
In my New Year's vow

Lord I'll do my best to do all that I say
I'm not perfect but I know it's okay
If I stumble You won't condemn my shame
I'm going to make a vow to repent and turn to You

I'm crying out to You now
As I make my New Year's vow
I'll tell You I love You
And I'll honor You somehow
Hear my promise to You in this New Year's vow
I give You all of me
You'll be all of my life
And I'll never think twice
To do all that You have for me
In my New Year's vow

It's a new year this year is different
From the other ones

I'm crying out to You now
As I make my New Year's vow
I'll tell You I love You
And I'll honor You somehow
Hear my promise to You in this New Year's vow
I give You all of me
You'll be all of my life
And I'll never think twice
To do all that You have for me
In my New Year's vow

Happy New Year!

It Took My Breath Away

(We didn't take this picture)

I forgot to mention early one of the most exciting presents that we got on Christmas.  My brother got our family a telescope.  It was so shocking.  We weren't expecting anything like that.  We set it up tonight.  Oh my goodness!  We got to see Venus, Mars, and Saturn.  Saturn was the most incredible out of all of them.  We could see the rings and everything.  I have always wanted to see this planet in a telescope ever since we did Astronomy in school.  It took my breath away.  I had the song "God of Wonders" playing over and over again in my head.  When we were in Arizona on our vacation last summer, we got the chance to see Jupiter at a observatory.  Seeing Saturn from our driveway was ten times better.

Great Christmas

We had a very nice Christmas.  My sisters and brother came over and we had a lot of fun.  My parents got me some c-ds that I wanted and they also got me a Jeremy Camp music book.  Bailey really likes her new toys.

I can't believe it's almost 2006!  We're going to my Grandparents house on New Years Eve.  I'm so excited because my cousin and his family are also coming.  They have two little girls.  They're so adorable!

Merry Christmas!

My dad just went out to get us Chinese food.  It has been one of our Christmas traditions since before I was born.  I'm so excited!  We each get to open one present tonight.  I can't wait for my sister to open the present I got her.    It's so cozy in the living room.  My dad just lit a log in the fireplace.  I hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

I See Clear Skies in the Distance....

I hope it doesn't start raining again.  I really want to go look at Christmas lights with our friends.  I'm going to be very disappointed if we can't go.  This is probably going to be our last year here since we're planning on moving pretty soon.  I see clear skies in the distance.  That should mean something. *NEWS FLASH*  I had to leave the computer for a minute to take Bailey outside.  The sky is blue!  Hopefully it will stay blue.

One of my friends got me a gift card for Starbucks.  Yes!!  I love Starbucks.  And one of my other friends gave me some lotion that smells really good, and tastes good too (Bailey loves the flavor.  She was attacking me.  Lol).

We finished the Christmas presents that we were making!  They all turned out really well.  We're so excited to give them to our family.

I'm Sick :(

I feel so awful.  Well, it could be a lot worse.  I'm so glad that I'm sick now instead of next weekend.  It feels like a cold.  I hope that I will be able to go to music lessons tomorrow.

We're almost completely done with the presents that we're making.  Just a few more to go.  I'm so excited for Christmas.  We're still not sure if we're are going to my Grandparents house or not.  I kind of hope that we can stay home, but I'll be ok if we have to go out.  One of my older sisters is planning on spending the night on Christmas Eve.  That makes me even more excited.

Take You Back

Take You Back

by, Jeremy Camp

The reason why I stand
The answer lies in you
You hung to make me strong
Though my praise was few
When I fall I bring your name down
But I have found in you
A heart that bleeds forgiveness
replacing all these thoughts of painful memories
But I know that your response will always be

I'll take you back always
Even when your folly is over now (x2)
I'll take you back always
Even when the pain is coming through (x2)
I'll take you back

You satisfy this cry
Of what I'm looking for
And I'll take all I can
And lay it down before
The throne of endless grace now that radiates what's true
I'm in the only place that
erases all these faults
That have over taken me
But I know that your response will always be

I'll take you back always
Even when your folly is over now(x2)
I'll take you back always
Even when the pain is coming through(x2)
I'll take you back

I can only speak with a grateful heart
As I'm pierced by this gift of your love
I will always bring an offering
I can never thank you enough

You take me back always
Even when my folly is over now(x2)
You take me back always
Even when my pain is coming through(x2)
You take me back (repeat these 5 lines twice)
