Posted in Day to Day

I feel so terrible! I have so many friends that blog daily even twice a day! I just can't get with the program here! Bad me! LOL

Well school is in full swing. All three children are reading now. Josiah is still having a hard time but I know he will get it down soon! The girls love reading the American Girl books. Yes, they are only 6 and read well enough for them! They don't have many trouble with the words. Joanna enjoys reading through the bible and copying down verses. She thinks it is fun! Julia enjoys sitting down and doing her own math problems, for fun. LOL I truly have amazing girls. They LOVE learning. Josiah does too but he would rather be outside like any boy! He really is into building lately. I have thought about asking his Grandpa if he might be willing to take time with him once a month or twice a month and build something with him. He needs to learn how to use tools and Daddy can't really teach him right now. He is doing what the LORD needs him to do. Besides I think Siah and Grandpa time would be a special thing for him and for Grandpa!

The little guys are doing great. Gabriel is up and walking. I just can't believe it. It goes way too fast for me. Uriah will be 3 years old in Feb. NO WAY!!! He is starting to potty train. I don't believe in pushing it so we are taking it on him time table. Today he kept taking off the diaper every time he wet so we will see. PRAYING!!!!!

Right now the little guys and myself have a nasty cold but tis just a cold. This too shall pass. Uriah's issues seem to be summed up in just a dairy issue. We really think that what happened was that since he had the c-diff for so long, a year, it just ruined his system. The first problem to happen is that the villi get damaged. Well the villi are the little fingers in your small intestines that take care of picking up nutrients and stuff. Can't remember how to explain it totally. Anyway on the very tip of those villi is what absorbs or handles the dairy enzymes and protiens. Well if those have suffered damage of any kind the first thing to go is dairy! So we are praying that his will heal in time and eventually he will be fine on dairy, but this does not always happen. He seems to do ok when no dairy at all is in him. So I am just extra extra careful!!!

Next thing to deal with is my health. I can not remember if I had posted or not. I know it has been a very long time. I was pregnant, due in Jan. I lost the baby. We named her Faith. It was a hard time but a time of growth in my faith. The LORD surely does know what we need. I must trust in him. I am praying for a nother baby girl though. Through losing Faith we discovered that I have Lupus to some degree. There is also some GI issues going on. I have an appt this week with my new doctor. I look forward to finding out what is wrong with me and getting Mommy all better to be able to raise these sweet blessing for the LORD. I am truly blessed. I do look forward to having more children should the LORD allow it to happen.

Well I am cold now, and I am tired. I have finally stopped sneezing for now so I am going to sneak into the room (Gabe is sleeping in there) and get some sleep! I will really try hard to keep up with my blog. I should be able to sit down nightly and update at least a little. Pray for me to be better at this. LOL

Good Night!

Update

Posted in Day to Day

Well we have more info on everyone! LOL

Josiah did need glasses for school work, reading, and computer time. He loves them and I will get a pic as soon as I am able to.

Julia will be going in for her special test at the end of the month. This will help us to know if anything is going on with her kidney.

Uriah...well the GI and I had a good talk. We both agree that he is just sensitive to foods. He has an over sensitive tummy!  Really EVERYTHING has been checked on him. So basically I need to keep a food, poop, throw up, and etc diary on him for a while and just see if we notice anything at all. She did say that for a 2 year old to be complaining of head pain is unusual and she wants him to have an MRI. So we will see where that goes!

Now our little baby! He had some blood work done and it came back that he is having a problem with his Thyroid. We don't kn ow yet if it is over active or under active. We will find out next week. She was very concerned though. He lost another 1.5 lbs. Oh he has DBL pnemonia. Poor baby! So his appetite decreased dramatically. He is still sick but eating more. She wants me to make sure he gets 1000 calories a day. He needs to eat as much as he can and drink as much as he can. We want to see if that makes any difference over the next week. Because there is no way to tell how  much milk he is actually getting from me. She wants me to keep nursing him also, but make sure he gets 8 oz of Pedia Sure a day.  So we will see what happens with that. We got back next week for a sweat test and to find out the answers to his blood work he had done today. Prayerfully we will also get in to see the Endocrinologist. That would be really great!! She said this is not a small thing. He needs this to be taken care of asap! Praise the LORD she is working hard for us. She has an in with the Endo since she works in the same place with them!

So that is what is going on right now. God is good!!!

WOW!!! Sorry ALL!!

Posted in Day to Day

It has been such a very long time since I have been able to write here and keep you all up to date! I really want to do better, but I have to say that life has really been crazy for us here. Where do I begin??

Well we finally got a possible diagnosis on Uriah. They believe he is having abdominal migraines. Strange as it may sound that is what it is called. Kids his age don't normally get migraine headaches. So instead they show all the other strange symptoms. Honesly after we looked this up I was shocked to see how many of the symptoms he has of it. So we are trying him on a course of a simple medicine to see if it keeps away his next flare up. He is due to get sick again soon. In fact I think he is actually starting now. He started his medicne on Monday. So we will see what happens.

We now have another health issue in our home. Julia, our little sweety is having some seriouis kidney issues. She has always had problems with bedwetting and accidents. We thought laziness was an issue for a while. Then we found out that Celiac Disease folks who are eating gluten can also have bladder issues. So we figured that was the issue with her younger years, before a gluten free diet. Well for the past year she has been having one UTI after another. Personally I feel like we just never got the thing to go away. This last time was really bad and she started having extreme pain in her upper back right where the left kidney is located.  We so ok, enough is enough! I took her to the ER. She has a UTI, kidney infection, enlarged kidney, and Hydronephrosis. Here is a link http://www.childrenshospital.org/az/Site1117/mainpageS1117P0.html

So needless to say we are now starting the specialist route with her.

Ok, now Gabriel is crying! I was trying to update you all! I will finish when I have more time......

August 2008

Posted in Day to Day

Well it is getting closer! The beginning of school. They are all reading on their own but I am still going to teach good and strong phonics to get them grounded in phonics. I am getting excited to see how this year will go. I am going to just teach the girls right along with Josiah and see how they do. I would like to keep them all together as it would make my joba a lot easier!! LOL

I also plan on having the children do one on one time with Uriah. He is really starting to pick up on things. He keeps looking at our sign language chart and trying to get his hands to copy the letters! It is really neat. Josiah enjoys teaching him things. It is really cute to watch. The girls LOVE reading to Uriah. So hopefully all will work well!!

Gabriel is sick right now. He caught a cold from Uriah. Poor little guy. Hopefully he will get well soon!! I am praying he won't get an ear infection or anything else from the congestion.

I am also going to use something new this year! Lapbooks!! I never knew what they were! I looked into them and found some really neat free ones online. I LOVE them!!! I think I will also be doing notebooking this year. I have to figure it all out but I think that my children will really enjoy it!

Well, I need to get devotions done with the children and fix a snack!! So that is all for now.

Gabriel Luke Reynolds

Posted in Day to Day

Our newest addition has finally arrived. It was a tough time but we are both finaly home and Momma is healing.

Gabriel Luke was born on Friday June 20, 2008 at 12:46 pm via c-section, not how we planned but sometimes you have to just do what is needed. He was 8 lbs 7 oz and 19 3/4 inches long. He looked so chubby when they pulled him out and showed him to me. To make a long story short...my water broke, labor did not progress naturally, tried pitocin and that helped, but then I got really sick and just didn't feel right. Then we noticed Gabriel's heart rate shot up. So he was obvioiusly stressed in the womb. So we all decided we needed to get it done! Before I went into the OR I threw up very hard! It was terrible. Gabriel was born with a fever and they could tell I had a fever also. He ended up with some respitory issues after birth. It was a rough few days. They thought something was wrong with his heart at one point. But the doctors wre very good there and were very thorough!! He is now perfectly fine and healthy. In fact the visiting nurse came today and weighed him, he is already back to birth weight.

As for Momma, the section went very well. I felt better than I ever have after a section. But then I got really sick. I could tell I was getting an infection. So they took a urine sample...sure enough, I have a severe bladder infection. The pain from this is so awful!! I have never had one like this before!! I tell ya..OUCH!! So I am on meds for that now too. I am healing, just slowly due to the infection.

The kids just LOVE Gabriel, especially Uriah! He is so cute with him. I will post some pics as soon as I can!

How do we do it??

Posted in Day to Day

I am asked this everytime I go out with the children. Then they see my growing belly and marvel that I have "that many kids." Then my 6 year old looks at them and with this he answers them "we have a small family. I have a friend who has 12 brothers and sisters. Now that is a big family. How does Momma do it? She has Jesus. She prays. When she fails she's on the floor on her knees asking God for help." Out of the mouth of babes I must say!!

He doesn't like it when we are told we have a big family. He feels we have a small family. He isn't set with the amount of siblings he has. He desires to have more, as do the girls.  One day a lady said this to the children "Well if you want all those siblings I sure do hope you are helping Mommy out at home." The childrens reply was pretty commical. Josiah "Of course. DO you really think that we would make Mommy do everything in the house. That is not right." LOL I can't remember who said what for the twins but it was along the lines of this "Mommy is teaching us to be little Mommas. We can't learn if we don't work with her." How cute!!!

So how do we do it? PRAYER!! But I think lately I have been learning to just "trust in Jesus." It is not possible with out prayer and trust in the Savior. Especially lately being so heavily laden with this baby!! I am so ready to birth him and continue on with life. Our whole family is ready. Yes I know I need to get some rest when Gabe is born, but I also need to get my house back on order and get going again!!

ANyway, on a commical note I found this Family Circus Comic today and I loved it!!!

Can you say AMEN!!!!!!
