Again..just because I needed it

It has been a long time since I read this....can you say OUCH!! Yikes I needed this!!!

MOTHERHOOD

It's such a waste of time to cook.
I'm just a walking cookery book.
I make and bake the morning through,
the favorite pies and pudding, too.
Then in half an hour or less,
my toil has gone to nothingness.
It's a waste of time to dust the stairs,
to clean the brass and polish chairs,
to sweep and pick up bits of fluff,
for nothing ever is clean enough.
Five minutes after I have done,
someone is sure to romp and run,
kick out the stair rods, flick the mats,
slam the door and scare the cats.
Some sticky hand is sure to press
the brasses from their sprightliness.
I tidy up and do the dusting,
but all the while my wings are rusting.
Then washing day is seems to me
is just a waste of energy.
What use to stand before a tub
and soak and rinse and blue and run?
Next week the selfsame garment's stain
will come into my hands again.
It's such a waste of time to men.
One has no sooner reached the end
of last week's pile then, need you ask it,
this week's filled up the mending basket.
The stockings, which were hale and hearty,
return from each picnicking party,
weak and worn and wanly show
great gaping holes in heel and toe,
while buttons have a cantankerous way
of disappearing every day.
Sponging off the spots and ironing creases,
between it all I'm worn to pieces.
Woman, from cradle to grave,
is nothing but a galley slave.
Second View.....

I've done an angel's work today.
Yes, such an honor came my way.
Real angel's work. Lest you doubt it,
I'm going to tell you all about it.
Well, first I cooked. It was so nice
to plan the pies, stewed fruit and rice.
God sent His angel once to make
cakes for a poor wayfarer's sake.
Just today He honored me
and sent the task my way, you see.
Then while I tidies up the place,
gave every know a radiant face,
back of my mind this thought would lurk:
that I was still at angel's work.
Putting away coats and dresses
and moving small, unsightly messes,
for oh, 'tis such a lovesome thing,
just straightening out and freshening.
And after that, I washed a few
small woolly garments, old, not new,
things I had rubbed and rinsed before,
quite forty times or even more.
As I hung them on the line,
I thought what Godlike work was mine--
to cleanse, ah me, to wash out stains
still not a single speck remains.
So later in the day, 'twas sweet
to sit and rest my tired feet,
mending the clothes and plan out, too,
how to make old things into new.
For surely it is angel's way
to put things right from day to day,
to find thin places and repair
the glad rags and the sturdy wear.
Since wear and tear must surely be
on this side of eternity,
I'm feeling very proud to say
I've done an angel's work today.

So where do you find yourself today? God's word tells us this:

Philippians 2:14   Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

  Philippians 2:15   That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Philippians 2:16   Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

You see the world watches us. Whether we know they are or not. One day I went to drop off my husband's uniform off at his second job. It was right after Gabriel was born. They hadn't seen the baby yet. Anyway, the store manager and asst. store manager came out to see me and the kids. Then the asst. said she saw us in Wal mart on the Friday before. She was going to come and say hi but didn't. She said she watched us all through the store. She was AMAZED as she watched how I handle them and how well behaved they were. She noticed how helpful as well. I had no idea!! My children has no idea!! Our testimony shone brightly for Christ that day! Praise God for that. But what I am trying to say is that we are the LIGHT to this world. How is our attitude about being a Mother? A wife? A homemaker? A teacher? You get my point. Hold forth the word of life!!  Put on a Meek and Quiet Spirit! Serve God with all yoru heart and let your LIGHT so shine forth to this lost and dying world!!

November 18
Crazy how things change! It seems as though that day was a long time ago. Gabriel is 18 months almost. Have I remembered what I wrote here. Sad to say no I haven't. I am struggling in the home with a sweet spirit. I am so thankful we serve a loving God, as God who forgives, a God who will give a fresh start, a God that has a store of grace that NEVER runs out. I am so thankful for my Saviour and for his precious promises. I am thankful for everyday I have with my blessings from him. Children are a gift, a sweet tender gift. I am so thankful for my 5. God has been so good to this Momma!!

Slow machine

Ok, so I haven't posted but it truly isn't my fault! This computer has been driving me nuts and honestly I just haven't been able to sit and wait for thsi thing to work right! I have to figure out what to do about it! Oh well!

So...Gabriel, Uriah, and I are all still getting over whatever bug we had. No it was not Piggy Flu! LOL Nor was it the regular flu! Just some nasty cold that decided to go on a major take over and win a war in our bodies! Praise the LORD HE created our bodies so perfectly that they know how to attack and fight the enemies...even if it takes weeks!!! LOL

School is going really well this year. We have had to take time due to sickness but we are getting it back! The kids are working hard and doing well!! I am so thankful! Josiah is really working hard. They are all reading pretty well now. Josiah finally got phonics! It just clicked one day...PRAISE GOD!!!!

I am now starting to work on Christmas gifts. We are doing an entirely homemade Christmas this year. We can not afford "things" nor do we want to add "things" to our home or others that will be useless in a year or not wanted in 4 months. LOL I am putting my whole heart and work into these gifts. I pray that those who recieve them will know they are loved and thought of. I also pray for them as I make their gifts.  Good way to remind me!!

So...what am I making.....

Purses (all different kinds)
Plastic Canvas bible covers
Plastic canvas money banks
Cross Stitch wall hangings
Wall Quilts
Curtains
Room Decor made from various items
Dresses and skirts
Baby and toddler shoes....

The list goes on and on....also family reads this blog so I don't want to give away too much! LOL

Ok....well after reading that list I see how much I need to get started on so I should sign off! Night!

He will be getting baptized this month too. He wants to see God work in his life. He is such a special young man. Posted in Day to Day

I feel so terrible! I have so many friends that blog daily even twice a day! I just can't get with the program here! Bad me! LOL

Well school is in full swing. All three children are reading now. Josiah is still having a hard time but I know he will get it down soon! The girls love reading the American Girl books. Yes, they are only 6 and read well enough for them! They don't have many trouble with the words. Joanna enjoys reading through the bible and copying down verses. She thinks it is fun! Julia enjoys sitting down and doing her own math problems, for fun. LOL I truly have amazing girls. They LOVE learning. Josiah does too but he would rather be outside like any boy! He really is into building lately. I have thought about asking his Grandpa if he might be willing to take time with him once a month or twice a month and build something with him. He needs to learn how to use tools and Daddy can't really teach him right now. He is doing what the LORD needs him to do. Besides I think Siah and Grandpa time would be a special thing for him and for Grandpa!

The little guys are doing great. Gabriel is up and walking. I just can't believe it. It goes way too fast for me. Uriah will be 3 years old in Feb. NO WAY!!! He is starting to potty train. I don't believe in pushing it so we are taking it on him time table. Today he kept taking off the diaper every time he wet so we will see. PRAYING!!!!!

Right now the little guys and myself have a nasty cold but tis just a cold. This too shall pass. Uriah's issues seem to be summed up in just a dairy issue. We really think that what happened was that since he had the c-diff for so long, a year, it just ruined his system. The first problem to happen is that the villi get damaged. Well the villi are the little fingers in your small intestines that take care of picking up nutrients and stuff. Can't remember how to explain it totally. Anyway on the very tip of those villi is what absorbs or handles the dairy enzymes and protiens. Well if those have suffered damage of any kind the first thing to go is dairy! So we are praying that his will heal in time and eventually he will be fine on dairy, but this does not always happen. He seems to do ok when no dairy at all is in him. So I am just extra extra careful!!!

Next thing to deal with is my health. I can not remember if I had posted or not. I know it has been a very long time. I was pregnant, due in Jan. I lost the baby. We named her Faith. It was a hard time but a time of growth in my faith. The LORD surely does know what we need. I must trust in him. I am praying for a nother baby girl though. Through losing Faith we discovered that I have Lupus to some degree. There is also some GI issues going on. I have an appt this week with my new doctor. I look forward to finding out what is wrong with me and getting Mommy all better to be able to raise these sweet blessing for the LORD. I am truly blessed. I do look forward to having more children should the LORD allow it to happen.

Well I am cold now, and I am tired. I have finally stopped sneezing for now so I am going to sneak into the room (Gabe is sleeping in there) and get some sleep! I will really try hard to keep up with my blog. I should be able to sit down nightly and update at least a little. Pray for me to be better at this. LOL

Good Night!

Sunday, August 2, 2009

Well it seems that both little guys are well, meaning they aren't sick from the virus anymore. I know you have no clue what I am talking about since I haven't blogged in for ever! Both little ones caught a virus last week that made them really sick and miserable! Glad that is over!

Well updates.

I guess the biggest update is that well............................ I am pregnant again. God is good and he is in control of my lie and our families lives. He really does chose what he wants for us. We are very happy and praying the LORD will give us a girl! Julia and Joanna are really wanting a sister to be with. I am due at the end of Jan 2010. We should find out in Oct. the sex of the baby.

Josiah is doing great! He is HUGE!! Bigger than ever. LOL I can't say too much has changed with him. He wears reading glasses now and looks very handsome in them. Other than that the only news with him are all those missing teeth. LOL

Julia and Joanna also haven't really changed or done anything dramatic of late. Both girls are losing their teeth also. They love reading, especially Joanna. She is the reader of the three. Julia still is just a cute little thing with her head in the clouds. It is neat to see them taking on their own likes and dislikes and not just copying each other.

Uriah is still having medical issues. Although we think we may have found some answers.  He has an appt this week with an allergist to see about pin pointing exactly what he can and can't eat. He has been dealing with the throwing up again recently. It really is awful the poor little guy. So Prayers for him would be a HUGE blessing to us.

Gabr is starting to cruise the furnniture now. I do in some ways lok forward to a walking little guy, but at the same time I have a eeling trouble will be happending more often!! Between chaing him and Uriah...wow!!

God sure is good to us!! I am falling asleep typing this so I will go and write more later!

Update

Posted in Day to Day

Well we have more info on everyone! LOL

Josiah did need glasses for school work, reading, and computer time. He loves them and I will get a pic as soon as I am able to.

Julia will be going in for her special test at the end of the month. This will help us to know if anything is going on with her kidney.

Uriah...well the GI and I had a good talk. We both agree that he is just sensitive to foods. He has an over sensitive tummy!  Really EVERYTHING has been checked on him. So basically I need to keep a food, poop, throw up, and etc diary on him for a while and just see if we notice anything at all. She did say that for a 2 year old to be complaining of head pain is unusual and she wants him to have an MRI. So we will see where that goes!

Now our little baby! He had some blood work done and it came back that he is having a problem with his Thyroid. We don't kn ow yet if it is over active or under active. We will find out next week. She was very concerned though. He lost another 1.5 lbs. Oh he has DBL pnemonia. Poor baby! So his appetite decreased dramatically. He is still sick but eating more. She wants me to make sure he gets 1000 calories a day. He needs to eat as much as he can and drink as much as he can. We want to see if that makes any difference over the next week. Because there is no way to tell how  much milk he is actually getting from me. She wants me to keep nursing him also, but make sure he gets 8 oz of Pedia Sure a day.  So we will see what happens with that. We got back next week for a sweat test and to find out the answers to his blood work he had done today. Prayerfully we will also get in to see the Endocrinologist. That would be really great!! She said this is not a small thing. He needs this to be taken care of asap! Praise the LORD she is working hard for us. She has an in with the Endo since she works in the same place with them!

So that is what is going on right now. God is good!!!
