Quilt Update

I just did the books for 2008 and wanted to share that I sold several quilts in 2008. I was about to totally scratch the quilt idea (again) when I realized that if I could do that, without real effort, what might I be able to do, with some real effort? If you read my previous post you'll see that I struggle to "do" and to be a "success". I so often feel that others see me as not doing anything purposeful -- after all, all I do is stay home all day with my children -- how hard can that be, right? Don't even get me started on this. . . but anyway, the quilts are different. The quilts are art with a functional purpose. They don't take time away from my children. Actually, often, I ask their input when doing some of them -- should I use buttons or lace here? what do you think of these two combinations vs. those? -- why am I so scared to step out on faith and just do this and nothing else? Shhhoooot! Even the ugliest patchwork I've ever made sold this year - and if someone bought that . . . . So for those who are following my quilting adventures, just know that I suspect, in that green pasture, there is probably a quilt to lay down on, if I'd only stop trying to get to another pasture . . .
