A New Attitude -- A New Approach

Posted in Single Moms as Keepers at Home

I've been praying about my attitude lately.  I've been working hard to change my "stinkin' thinkin' " to something more edifying.  Okay, so there are lots of folks out there who aren't doing what they could be, but you know what, it's between them and God.  I am only accountable for me.

So here's my new approach to homeschooling as a single mom -- I need to trust God, not the church or even individuals to supply our needs.  What I need to do is have a grateful heart toward those who do help, to praise God for the blessings we receive and to leave the rest to Him.

So, here is my first praise!  A homeschooling mom who read my blog wanted to do something to encourage me in my efforts, her gift to me was a banner for my website (etsy page).  While this may not seem like much to some -- let me assure you, anything that will make my website more professional looking, anything that may help my quilts sell, may in fact be the very thing that helps to move my family from dependence on welfare, to independence from it.  Her small gift may be the biggest blessing we receive this week, this month, or even this year.

I am so totally blessed!

Blessings, MaggieRaye

Yeah:) A new attitude:)
I know it can be frustrating, but people are people and don't always see the need or obey the Spirit's prompting.
We're not responsible for them, only our own attitudes and actions.

You're right to keep you eyes on God.
I'm sorry I didn't think to make your Etsy banner!

How about if you link this blessing to my Works of God Monday? It's a great way to spend your week--thinking what you'd like to share on Mondays:)

Jul. 20, 2009 - Trusting is Hard!

Raylene,

Your post was an encouragement to me. Trusting is so hard sometimes, especially when you look around, and it seems others have it far easier. I'm trying very hard to give much thanks for all I can think of whenever I feel down. It is helping me.

Love,
Janet

Let me know if there's anything else I can do/help with. :) (Erm... I can't remember if I ever even told you my homeschoolblogger name. This is the homeschooling mom who sent you the banner, if you didn't already figure that out! Hee.) Take care!
