Kumbayah Quilt

Gallery of Past Quilts
As I'm typing this, I'm uploading the picture of my most recently finished quilt top into my photobucket so that you can see what I've been working on.
The top is finished in terms of piecing, but there is still some stitchwork to do and then the assembling of the actually layers of the quilt and then finally the tying.
As you look at this you must remember that there are two things I "don't" do -- I don't do pieced quilts -- most of mine are appliqued patchwork -- and I don't follow a pattern, I make up my own. This quilt is pieced and using a traditional block pattern (friendship star blocks) but it also came out of the August 2009 Quilter's World Magazine. Mine is a little different then theirs -- this wasn't intentional, it sorta "happened" because I cut some of the pieces to small, and then cut others to match to compensate. It's easier to cut big pieces smaller than to recut all new pieces for those that were too small.
I have three students signed up for my upcoming quilt class this fall -- this encourages me since that means 1/2 the class is full. I may actually have 5 if two of the students moms decide to join us.
Here's the Kumbayah Quilt :

Sorry about the smudge on the camera lense.
