I received an A+ for this little paragraph in a Composition Class I take with other homeschoolers. I love writing about my life, and things and people I love. Enjoy!
His Word, My Treasure
Displayed on my white bedside table, sets a worn and flexible leather-bound book. Open its black cover and out fall touching photographs, hastily written addresses on napkins, a bookmark or two, and song lyrics typed on paper, now tattered and creased. Flip through the pages, and highlighted sections, notes on the side, and underlined verses cover many chapters. Well-used and wrinkled, the leaves are tear-stained, written upon, faded, and dearly loved. The rustling pages have the scent of freshly washed sheets. My favorite piece of literature, the Holy Bible, provides encouragment when surrounded by a thousand cruel fears, hope in cheerless and weary times, and reminds me not to find my place in the world, but to wage war with the worldly culture that has declared war on God's design for me. Jesus Christ, my faultless Savior, I owe my life, for He has delivered me from the sin which should have taken me to hell by the influence of His Word.
