I was sitting in the car at my sister's art lessons waiting for her to finish her lesson and come out to the car. I was feeling down that day, and depressed because I was thinking of some friends whose standards weren't as high as mine, and so they had boyfriends, and were seeming to have more "fun" than me. A book had just arrived in the mail the day before, that my Momma had gotten for me. I had brought it along and decided to read it while I was waiting for my sister. The more I read, the better it got! It really lifted up my spirits and helped me to see that I don't need guys and worldly pleasures to make me happy, or to create "fun" in life. I put myself down sometimes, and this book lifted me up. I'll share some bits and pieces of it with you, plus some scriptures it reffered to.

~ Until you like yourself, nobody else can either.

~ When you seek to find the best in others, you find the best in yourself.

~ God has given you one face, and you make yourself another! (I love this one. Why should we rearange ourselves, when God made us the way He wanted us?)

~ Behavior is a mirror in which everyone displays his own image.

~ Look in the mirror, and one thing is sure. What you see, is not who you are. (In other words, what's on the inside is what counts!)

~ To dream of the person you would like to be is a waste of the person you are!

~ Love yourself, and put more effort into your heart than any other part of you. It is then that you can see yourself for WHO you are - nothing more, and nothing less. You are God's perfect and uniqe design.

~ Ask yourself this: "When I walk down the street, do people see me as a Treasure or a Target?

~ Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we carry it with us, or find it not.

~ THIS IS MY FAVORITE:

Allow your heart to be so wrapped up in God, that a guy has to ask for directions to get to it!

~ You have to know not only WHO you are, but WHOSE you are.

~ Beauty comes from Jesus. True beauty is from the inside. It's up to you to so yourself as beautiful.

~ The beginning of anxiety is the end of faith!

~ Just a little thought: What would your life be like if you didn't worry?

  We don't have to worry, because God has better things for us to do! (Matthew 6:25-27) God DOES hear your prayers! (James 5:16)     God DOES care about your desires! (Psalm 37:4)     He wants to help and serve us! (Isaiah 30:18)     He wants us to make it to Heaven! (Luke 12:32)

~ Because God has made us for Himself, our hearts are restless until they rest in Him. - Saint Augustine

~ This one's kinda goofy, but I think it's cute. "Those who dance are considered insane by those who don't hear the music".  This applies to life, too. People who don't personally know God, think those who serve Him are crazy!

~ Are you ready for this one? - You can't fight a battle you won't admit your in.
