Hello everyone! I haven't really posted anything personal for a while, have I? Well, school is good but busy. I'm a little behind, so I'm stressed a bit. I'm still feeling excited about our trip to Arizona! It was so exhilarating, I will never forget it.
I am busy finishing up the next issue of The Little Encourager, a newletter my family publishes with fun and encouragment for all ages. If you would like to receive a sample, please leave me a message.
I just wrote a "tall tale" in Composition Class and it was super fun. I'll post it in another post some time. It was about two girls, one named Boisterous and one named Faithful, and how their differences caused their futures to turn out totally different. I will title the post I put it in "Don't fall for a Loser in Aluminum Foil".
In Literature today, I read an awesome quote, or at least a thought provoking one:
"Man is only a reed, the weakest in nature, but he is a thinking reed. There is no need for the whole universe to take up arms to crush him: a vapor, a drop of water is enough to kill him. But even if the universe were to crush him, man would still be nobler than his slayer, because he knows that he is dying and the advantage the universe has over him. The universe knows none of this." -Blaise Pascal in Pense'es
Thought provoking, huh?
I am reading a book on the fortress, Masada right now. It's simply titled, "Masada". It's very interesting. If you don't know anything about Masada, I definately recommend it. It's sad, though. It's by Gloria D. Miklowitz.
In history, the Aztecas are failing to impress me. They are pagans!
Music, as always, is my favorite subject of all. =) I know, it's really supposed to be "Fine arts". I have just gotten the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack, it is soooo good! I love the piano music!!! Gorgeous, isn't it? My mandolin skills are improving! It's not only a neat instrument, it's fun.
Happy birthday to Uncle Roger!!! I hope he has a great day and may God bless you!
I just made this AWESOME German Chocolate Cake recipe, I'll have to post it. It's SOOOO good!
My sister and I mucked out today. I know, horrid thing to talk about right after I talked about chocolate cake .... yuch. lol But the snow is melting amazingly! Where my Dad has plowed, there is no snow left. Only gross looking brown grass. But everywhere else there is only 2 feet of snow! Melting fast!
My Mom made (or remodled, actually) a long, cream Romantic Era spagehetti strap dress with a long, pink sash. It is sooo pretty! We got it cheap at Goodwill and simply fit it to my size! (Oh, and don't worry. I'll be wearing a shirt under that dress.)
I have ridden my horses twice this year, the 6th and 7th. It was so crazy! My horses were going nuts. lol They were so happy to be out of the pasture!
I am in sewing in 4-H and am planning an apron! We have picked out a long, Beatrix Potter style pattern. It's really pretty! I'll post pictures when I finish it.
Our neighbor's foal is doing great, she is so adorable!!! My mom has pictures of it on her blog: keeperofthefires.
Well, that's about it for now I think. Have a great day and thanks for reading! Love you too, Lauren! Hi Ian and David! Say hi to Dawn for me! And I miss you already, McCully family! Hope you enjoyed your stay in Idaho! =)
