Blueberry picking was an absolute blast. Sarah, Anne Mary, David, Pa (Grandfather) and I went for our annual blueberry picking day. We arrived a little later than I had hoped, but the harvest was plentiful. The bushes were overflowing with ripe fruit. There were hundreds there picking, but it did not feel a bit crowded.
This was David's first time out picking blueberries. Instead of weighing his container before and after, I should have just had them weight him. He ate them faster than he could pick them, which meant he was constantly scavaging from his sisters and grandfather's buckets.
The girls were a delight, picking and working dilligently. We left with 6 pounds of blueberries at $1.90 per pound. We will freeze most of them for use throughout the year, once we have all had our fill of fresh ones.
Happy Homemaking!
