Cedar Hill
Oct. 23, 2006 - Fall hike

Yesterday we had a friend over who lives and works in downtown Lawrence.  He mentioned that being in the country was really ministering to his soul.  I think living in town all the time can take a toll on a person visually.  So, we took him on a little walk through the fields and woods.  After he left, the kids all came out for a little hike to pick some cattails.  As the kids would twist them or break them, they would just explode into seeds.  It was really funny, except for the huge amounts of seeds that stick to fleece jackets.  (I guess fleece must have some advantages, but when one lives in the country, one spends a lot of time picking burrs and such off it.)  Caleb was pretending they were on some adventure in a distant land I guess, because when they all saw me at the top of a  hill with Q in the backpack, he said, "Look, a spy!"  to which Ethan replied, "Uh-uhhhh, that's our MOM!"

I've always thought of you as a spy. I bet this whole homeschooling mom thing is just your cover. You're kgb, cia, or something similar. Maybe both ... a double agent.

Double Agent Ann does have a nice ring to it. I bet you speak in secret code too.

Well, I am outta here. I mean, (cough) The eagle has landed. and um, ... There's good fishing in Michigan. You know what I mean Ann.

You better start looking behind you as you stroll around your campus, mister! I have contacts in Ohio, too!

just reading about the country walk!

Our kids went through a period of trying to spy on us. They had their headquarters in the basement. Jms and I had fun planting false information and doing some spying on them.

Goat stew sounds yummy! We ate goat meat and beans in Haiti on a short term mission trip and I liked it. Can you get goat milk or goat cheese from your neighbors? I love goat feta cheese. Its good enough for dessert for me!

Hey, at least I don't have to kill the chickens first!!! ;)
