Preschoolers Teaching Me To Serve

• Jan. 7, 2008 - Prayer Update

Thank you all for praying for my daughter!  We were able to talk to a different neurosurgeon, who was better able to explain why surgery is not a good option for my daughter.  My husband and I both felt much better about monitoring her condition rather than treating it.  The surgery would be far too risky due to the anatomy.  The MRI showed that despite the difference in the outside of the skull, internally, the blood flow looks either the same or even a little better.  Please continue to pray for her safety.  Since she does have a hole in her skull, a head injury would be very very dangerous.  They would like to find a noninvasive method to try and protect the hole in her skull.  They said that a helmet wouldn't help her.  So, please pray for wisdom for my husband and I as we try and keep her safe.  Also, please pray for angles to protect her little head   I wish I could better explain the situation.  The last meeting, the doctor went into a lot of detail about the anatomy in her brain.  All I know is that the clot is caused by her anatomy, not a blood clotting disorder.  We are also praying that the Lord would heal her vein that is clotted the same way he allowed the blood to flow through this other vein.  Our God is the great healer.  He has already done an amazing miracle in my daughter.  It is very humbling to watch her talk and run around the house.  I am so thankful that God has made my baby girl into such a beautiful person.  Thank you for your continued prayers.  This condition is much more rare than the doctors originally thought.  However, she is also doing better than they can medically explain!  Praise God!  It is very humbling to have the Lord intervene in our lives in such a personal way!  Whenever I think about the situation, the Lord always reminds me of the blind man.  "As He went along, He saw a man blind from birth.  His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"  "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life..."John 9:1-3  I know that God is glorified through my daughter's life!

I am so glad the new dr was able to make you understand and feel more at ease with your daughter's condition. I think you did a wonderful job explaining it. I will continue to pray for her, and you and your family. I'm sure there are plenty of angels keeping watch. I think that is a perfect scripture that you quoted at the end! Have a wonderful week and thanks so much for the update. Julie

Just stopped by to see how things were going. We are holding your DD up in our prayers. We serve a God that is big enough to handle this problem. In His eyes, this is only a little thing. Keep your faith in His healing power. God bless you all, Blessings, Traci

Oh, I was hoping you'd have an update on your sweet daughter!
I would feel the same way, I think- about monitoring vs. surgery.
Is the hole in her skull from some procedure they've done or was she born with it?
Definitely will continue to pray for you guys. For wisdom, healing and protection.
Your lives are a great testimony- it's so neat to see you praise Him through this! :)
HUGS to you and LOVE the darling picture of your cutie pies!
Love, Alyssa

About Me

"But the greatest among you shall be your servant." Matthew 23:11. I'm learning how to be a servant with my kids and wonderful husband of 7 years. My desire is to glorify the Lord with the life He has given me. As a former teacher, I love teaching my own children! My son turned five this July and my daughter will turn three in October. We are expecting a little girl due on September 17th!
