Where's the happydance guy?
There he is! I'm feelin' pretty boogie'in thrilled right now! I've gotten frustrated one time too many at this blog (not at HSB, but at the blog itself!) I've been working on changing the template for...well, let's say, it's been a LONG time (don't look at the dates). A good hippie-friend of mine made ONE clarification for me and Praise God, it's done! I now know HOW to change it and know I can do it again.
It's quiet time at the casa right now, and I'm hopin' to get to some fun stuff with the kidlets this afternoon. K has to get her work done, because she dawdled her time away this morning on grammar. How do you gauge time needed to be spent for kiddos? K is eight, and the grammar lesson would've taken me less than 5 minutes to do, writing it all out and everything. Taking into account her slower writing, and her just learning the grammar itself, I estimated giving her a max of 30 minutes to complete it. Now, today, I was in the same room, and A was in and out with his assignment (more about that in a minute), so there was an amount of distraction, but the time she took was excessive! So, she still has work to finish this afternoon, when A gets to play his game on the computer and Z gets to watch a video. I'll have her in the kitchen with me, I suppose, as I prepare dinner and we shall see how her motivation strikes out. She's reading Charlotte's Web right now, part of her assignments this week...at least chapters 7-10, but if I know her, she's already read the whole thing!
Now, A, newly 6, just spent the morning doing a treasure hunt for his alphabet. This is the son who "can't" remember his ABC's from day to day. He only "missed" one letter (got them out of order) today, but spent the better part of an hour running from upstairs to downstairs, delivering letters between. He got some physical learning in today, and I think that's gonna be the key. I pray it will!
Z, 3, is crashed out asleep next to me on the sofa, and it's well-needed, I should say. He didn't feel well yesterday, and needs the extra rest. S is crashed out upstairs in her bed. Well-needed as well.
Me, I'm fixin' my blog!
Did I mention WOOHOO?!?!?!
Off I go to do something else...
