I'm a homeschool mom of 3 daughters. My aim in life is to glorify God by loving and serving my family, grow personally in my walk with Him, and being a Titus 2 woman to those younger than me. This blog is to share what God is doing in my life and in the life of our homeschool.
Princess is 9 years old . She was born a princess and continues to hold the title. She loves all things girlie and is talented in all things crafty.
Pixie is 7 and a half. She has a passion for truth, loves rocks and shells and has a huge collection of them.
Peanut is 5. She is fun loving, happy all the time and can make anybody laugh.
It's here! What you ask? My This Old Schoolhouse magazine. I got it today and I have already started reading it and I tell you it is jam packed with good stuff. I can't wait to get it all read.
Next week is Princess' birthday. She is happily excited for her birthday. I am so glad. I will be busy making the cake and I promise to post a picture. Peanuts' birthday is five days after her sisters'. I'll post her cake too. It is my favorite part of the birthday celebrations. The next week and a half I may not be around HSB too much.
I bought a new camera last week. I need to spend some time figuring it out and downloading photos onto this computer. I have a question----what is the difference between download and upload? Can you use the terms interchangeably or do they have separate meanings.
Marsha said that the style of the 80's is making a come back. Didn't anyone tell these people that it wasn't good then? I thought of this because I saw it with my very own eyes. A young lady was wearing a short white mini skirt with black legging tights that ended at the ankle. She had flat shoes too. I had visions of Cindy Lauper right before my eyes. It was not pretty.
I feel sorry for all the people having a hard time with the heat. I personally am delighted that the weather here is wonderful. It isn't as warm as it usually is in August and it makes me a bit concerned that the warm days will end too early.
I am really hoping to post on what we are doing for school this fall. I have another little one entering our school. It will be the first year I have all three in school. I have it mostly figured out. I have a couple of things to order still. Speaking of which I think I will go check out TOS store. Did you know that they don't charge for shipping? Now, that is a deal.
Lastly, for all you laptop users that actually blog in their lap, what do you use for underneath your computer so your lap doesn't burn and your computer doesn't get too hot? I need to find something and thought I'd ask around first for recommendations. Thanks.
I think downloading is when you transfer files from the internet or other sources to your computer. Uploading is when you put files or pictures or info on the computer or internet. Can't wait to see the pictures of the birthday cakes. I love that part of the b-day celebrations too!
When I get home, I'm definitely going to blog something about those '80s styles that are making a comeback. What is *wrong* with these fashion designers? Why don't we ever see a return to the lovely sheath dresses of the '30s, or even the flapper styles of the '20s?? Why, oh WHY, do we have to live through leggings again? If big bangs come back, I'm going to hurt someone.
Your right, upload is "putting it up" on the internet from your computer, download is "taking it down off" the internet to your computer.
I have a great lap desk from Tiger Direct by http://www.laptopdesk.net/. It was cheap and works well for keeping off the heat (and for keeping the laptop cool which is even more important.) I have seen other more expensive ones that you actually have to plug in, ths one you don't. Tiger Direct as a lot of choices available.
Justsay no to big bangs. I was right in the middle of it and HATE them as much as I hate the off the shoulder pig tops and gint hairbows, though I do love the leggings and skirt look.
I was thinking about you this morning, so i am just popping over to say "hi".
:) and thanks for the nice words about TOS.
PS i hope you guys are WRONG about the 80's comeback... gag me!
Wow have you all been busy this summer!!! loved reading it all.
As to the 80's - the fact that JenIg said, "Gag me" threw me back in time to 1984's Madonna conical chest contraptions...bring on the leg warmers and teased bangs! I'll be blissfully out of style.
If I take a Pacific West trip this fall, I'm SOOOO gonna stop by your lovely home and eat some cake! Are you close to Seattle?
