I'm a homeschool mom of 3 daughters. My aim in life is to glorify God by loving and serving my family, grow personally in my walk with Him, and being a Titus 2 woman to those younger than me. This blog is to share what God is doing in my life and in the life of our homeschool.
Princess is 9 years old . She was born a princess and continues to hold the title. She loves all things girlie and is talented in all things crafty.
Pixie is 7 and a half. She has a passion for truth, loves rocks and shells and has a huge collection of them.
Peanut is 5. She is fun loving, happy all the time and can make anybody laugh.
Hubby and I are back from Montana. It was a quick trip and the driving was long. (12 hours each way) We are exhausted. The kids did well while we were gone and thankfully the girls stayed healthy and whatever Princess started coming down with disappeared.
The funeral was good, sad, tragic, emotional, and a whole lot of other emotions. There was definately a hole missing amongst the family and the abscence of hubby's cousin was greatly felt by all. Her daughter will need many prayers as she adjusts to life without a mommy. Her husband will need many prayers as he adjusts to life as a single parent. Her mother will need many prayers as she greives her much too young daughter. If you think of it will you lift this family up?
The trajedy is that the drunk driver walked away from the scene without checking the car for hurt people. He was driving on the wrong side of the interstate highway coming around a curve where he couldn't be seen. The car in front swerved off the road just in time but it left no time for this family to get completely out of the way. Only the passenger side was hit, killing the mom and leaving the two kids and husband unhurt, thankfully. Once he was admitted to the hospital he escaped and there was an APB out for his arrest. He turned himself in. He made bail which was set high. He has a record of drug possesion, DUI's, leaving the scene of an accident twice, and more. He has a wife and 4 children. We pray that he gets his punishment to the full extent of the law. He is clearly a repeat offender and he should not be on the streets. For more of the story, articles have been in the Missoulian (online).
Hubby are glad we made the trip. They needed as much family there as possible. This has affected me more than I thought it would. If you have a broken relationship with someone, restore it. Work on being close with your family. Hug you children and love on them. We don't know what tomorrow will bring.
Susan (who is going to fall asleep with head on keyboard!)
Hi Susan,
I'm glad you are back safely and thanks for taking the time to post an update. I've been praying for you and am glad to hear the report.
Blessings, and a good sleep,
Rebeca
Glad you are back safely and I will be praying for the family. I just wrote about how close we came to being in a head on collision yesterday and you are right, it definitely makes you reexamine what is most important! Hope you are able to get some rest.
I was just stopping by to ask if you could please pass the word about the "Labor in Love" 30-Day Encouragement Challenge (from Revive Our Hearts) that we're doing beginning Sept. 4th? It would be great to have as many women as possible doing this (and I'm sure the husbands wouldn't mind either!)
Susan...
Praying for your entire family at this time. Asking God to wrap you all in his great big loving arms... giving you the peace that passes all understanding~ Know I'm thinking of you all...
(((((Blessings & hugs)))))

Susan:
This is so heart breaking. I will keep your cousin's husband and daughter in my prayers for a long time to come as they deal with getting their lives picked back up. You are so right....we need to hug our DC's and DH's everyday, put aside any bad feelings and remember how precious life is.
