I'm a homeschool mom of 3 daughters. My aim in life is to glorify God by loving and serving my family, grow personally in my walk with Him, and being a Titus 2 woman to those younger than me. This blog is to share what God is doing in my life and in the life of our homeschool.

Wednesday, September 27, 2006 - Times Tales----My review
Princess is 9 and working on memorizing her math facts. It has been a struggle and so I thought I would pick up this little handy dandy program to help her. I read the reviews and I thought it can't be that easy, but I will give it a try.
I am in shock at how easy it was. We tried it yesterday afternoon. We spent about 1/2 hour on it maximum. She did the flashcards and got them all right, rather quickly. Her dad quizzed her on it when he got home, and he was in shock. I quizzed her again today and she still had it. We are all so excited. She is thrilled and she is now excited at doing math. It was fun for her and she feels more confidence. Unfortunately the program doesn't cover the lower numbers, so I thought I would come up with our own little system. She responded well to the stories. It has given me more insight into her learning style which will be helpful for many things.
If you have a child who needs a boost in math facts I highly recommend this program. It was well worth the money spent (which wasn't much).
Every time I'd see this product, I'd think to myself It's going to be a long time before we need that. But I just realized that we will be covering that really soon! It seems SO grown up-- where has the time gone?!
We just tried this last month and I remember starting it thinking, "I don't see how this works but I'll stick with it and see what happens." At the end, when it all came together, it was amazing! I used it with my 11 and 9 year old and since my 6 year old was sitting in the same room, he learned it too! Glad to hear it worked so well for you!
I wish I had know about this a few weeks ago, but oh, well. I paid quite a bit for Math-It, and am hoping it will fit us. I just got it in yesterday, so I haven't had time to dig into it yet. And, since we have a birthday tomorrow, trip to Knoxville Thursday (50 min.), and a slumber party Friday and Sat., it might be a few days before it gets looked at!
I like your new look. It was a nice surprise to see your sweet girls' faces pop up when your page came up.
Briana did Locks of Love one time, and I was the same way about her cutting her hair. Marissa wants to do it, but she's had her hair cut several times, so she needs about 3-4 more inches to make it. I don't know if she'll be able to stand it that long!
Your blogger picnic looked like fun.
