I'm a homeschool mom of 3 daughters. My aim in life is to glorify God by loving and serving my family, grow personally in my walk with Him, and being a Titus 2 woman to those younger than me. This blog is to share what God is doing in my life and in the life of our homeschool.
Princess is 9 years old . She was born a princess and continues to hold the title. She loves all things girlie and is talented in all things crafty.
Pixie is 7 and a half. She has a passion for truth, loves rocks and shells and has a huge collection of them.
Peanut is 5. She is fun loving, happy all the time and can make anybody laugh.
My friend literarygirl is writing everyday three things she is thankful for. I thought I would do the same and hope to not forget a day. So here goes:
1. Free lapbook downloads from Live and Learn Press. 2. Tea and my insta-hot to speed the process of making a cup every night. 3. Our cat tree that keeps the cats from destroying our furniture.
That wasn't so hard. We will just assume that I am thankful for my family, health, God etc. This is to help me realize that I am thankful for the everyday mundane things.
If you haven't seen the post below, please look. I asked a question that I would love to get more answers to. Leave you answer in that post.
I'm here to answer your question, and to tell you that a note is on it's way to you via snail-mail.
We are currently attending a church that teaches straight through scripture, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't topical. I would say it takes the scripture and finds a topical application, last week it was the power of the Holy Spirit with a big emphasis on the difference between Covenant and Contract (like in marriage). And that was from Genesis. I like a "plan" - like topical if it is a series, not just random. But I feel like I study scripture in Bible Study line by line so it isn't as important to me on Sunday mornings. I've been downloading and listening to Mars Hill Seattle sermons each week also. He just finished going through Corinthians and now is doing a 12 week series on Jesus and again, since there is a series, it works well I think. I am not helping at all, am I? Bottom line: either way works for me if the sermon is presented well and there is application I can walk away with and put into practice. I don't expect every sermon to hit me the same way, but I love it when it feels like it was just for me! Jodi
(One thing I can't STAND is when I feel like there is an agenda behind a message, does that make sense? That bugs me, so I guess that is why I like a series if it is topical, so it's not just "today we are going to talk about why you need to do such and such more" because it feels like they have ulterior motive, to get us to do what they want.)
