I'm a homeschool mom of 3 daughters. My aim in life is to glorify God by loving and serving my family, grow personally in my walk with Him, and being a Titus 2 woman to those younger than me. This blog is to share what God is doing in my life and in the life of our homeschool.

Princess is 9 years old . She was born a princess and continues to hold the title. She loves all things girlie and is talented in all things crafty.

Pixie is 7 and a half. She has a passion for truth, loves rocks and shells and has a huge collection of them.

Peanut is 5. She is fun loving, happy all the time and can make anybody laugh.

Wednesday, October 25, 2006 - Thankful - Day 3

Todays list is:

1.  I am thankful that as I fell down my front porch steps and twisted the other ankle, it wasn't serious and I didn't injur it.  (I am not kidding!)

2.  I am thankful that the lady who told the story tonight at Awana who was dressed in black with a black long wig, black long fingernails, and false eye lashes, was indeed not a witch, but Jezebel.  (Note sarcasm here- I am not sure what value the story of Jezebel can be to a bunch of 5-7 year olds)

3.  I am truly thankful for my physical therapy that has been helping my posture tremendously.  ( I have slouched my whole life and it was getting worse. I decided to do something about it and I have come a long way.)

Susan

I'm a sloucher. Is it possible to break the habit? I've given it some weak attempts in the past but it's too painful or I just forget. Is there hope? Seriously, I'll end up hugely hunched over if I don't figure something out.... Thanks! Kristi

Hi Susan,
Could you please place your feet more carefully from now on? You know it's bound to happen; if you keep falling, you just might ruin those favorite jeans! Anyhow, the point of my writing was to tell you that Eleanor Joyce (I think her link is ejoyceink ~ at HSB of course) mentioned that she uses the Natural Speller and really likes it A LOT. I saw it advertised in TOS in the last issue I believe. Just the one program is all you need from K-12.

Have a great day and keep your ankles and back mending!
Jennifer :)

your OTHER ankle? No way. I read that part twice to see if I read wrong. Hey, I'm thankful for you for that too!

Hooray for PT! I started going to a chiropractor last year (there are a LOT of similarities between chiropractors and PTs) and it has been really helpful. I'm glad its working for you!

I'm not super knowlegeable about Awanas, but is that really the place to be dressing like that and scaring kids? My kids would have been crying, but they're pretty easily scared.

Please walk more carefully, or you'll be going to extra PT sessions for you ankles! Hmmm...maybe your PT is messing with your brain. It needs to learn to walk a bit differently? Hee hee. :o)

I could cry for you, yell at you and laugh at you all at once! What is your middle name? I think it's time I used it and said, "Susan-MiddleName!" What have you gotten yourself into??? Please PLEASE take care of yourself. Now, watch those WRISTS!

And, um, I don't think I'd care for a witch-like jezebel. Not a coincidence it was around this time of year, huh? weird

Don't go anywhere.

Saturday, October 28, 2006 - Jezebel

Em told me on Wednesday night before bed that she heard a story about Jezebel and what can happen to a woman who is dishonest and lies. "It was horrible," she said. "She fell out a window and was eaten up by a wild beast. I don't want to be like her." I guess that is one way that the story can reach a 5-7 year old. I wasn't too crazy about the character for the week either, but Em came away learning the effects of a sinful life. - Amy
