I'm a homeschool mom of 3 daughters. My aim in life is to glorify God by loving and serving my family, grow personally in my walk with Him, and being a Titus 2 woman to those younger than me. This blog is to share what God is doing in my life and in the life of our homeschool.
Princess is 9 years old . She was born a princess and continues to hold the title. She loves all things girlie and is talented in all things crafty.
Pixie is 7 and a half. She has a passion for truth, loves rocks and shells and has a huge collection of them.
Peanut is 5. She is fun loving, happy all the time and can make anybody laugh.
Well, I missed writing yesterday so lets see if I can come up with 6 things today.
1. I am thankful for Homeschoolbuy.com. Don't know what it is? Well, if you have heard about ebay not allowing the sale of teachers manuals then you will be pleased with homeschoolbuy.com. It is just like ebay but for homeschoolers to sell their materials. You can sell many other things as well. There are no listing fees. Check it out.
2. I am thankful that I will be writing Craft Corner on the Company Porch (Shameless Plug). It comes out on Mondays so if you are looking for a craft to do with your kids, check it out. Stayed Tuned next week as I will have something to give away.
3. I am thankful that it is still almost two months until Christmas, especially since my girls are already starting to make gifts. They have been all secretive in their room crafting away. They also have started making a Christmas chain with red and green construction paper. Goodness, they do take after me.
4. I am thankful that my girls get allowance. They have learned so much about saving and spending and counting money.
5. I am thankful for my husband. He is very stressed at work with a change in management but he continues to go to work every day. If you think of it will you pray for him? Thanks.
6. I am thankful for 5th Street. It is a shopping/restaurant center that we go to most Sundays after church. My inlaws have been going there for years, every Sunday after church. We have decided to try to make it our tradition too to meet them there and fellowship. It meets a need I have to be with people on Sundays. It has been good.
I'm going to go read your company porch post right now! We love 5th Street Market too; it's a fun place to eat and browse.
I need to do more crafty things with Peregrine. As much as I love making things I'm really not into all the junky little kids stuff that's out there. (More stuff to throw away by stealth a few weeks down the road.....) But, I know he enjoys it so I really should do more of it with him.
Hope to see you Thursday!

(now that I probably won't blog late at night, gotta squeeze thesein between subjects!) lol
Your Craft post was great, i so shy away from paint! I love your daughter's picture! I will show that one to my dc.
Will pray for your dh, please pray for us again regarding legalism and such: (trying to adhere to mosaic covenant laws, adding them in...etc...not living by grace but by works...youg et the idea!)
Wow, has it really been a year? Enjoyed it all~

Just stopped in to say hi and catch up on reading some of your posts. You are one busy lady, and it sounds like you all have been having a great fall. The beach trip sounded great!! We are the same way. We live 30-40 minutes from the National Park, and we rarely go. Everyday life gets too busy.
As for our spelling-- with my older girls we did use spelling lists, but usually it was a waste of time. They read so much, and spelling seemed to come naturally. We used Spelling Power for the last couple of years I did spelling with them. We haven't done any spelling in high school. For Marissa (age 9), I am not doing spelling lists. The more she reads and the more she asks me how to spell words, the better her spelling is getting. I also pick certain sounds that we talk about sometimes. We might pick the "ight" sound, and list words that have that sound. I am a firm believer that reading and writing will teach them to spell. But, I also know it is easier for some with lists. As long as it is a method that benefits and encourages the child, that is what is important.
