I'm a homeschool mom of 3 daughters. My aim in life is to glorify God by loving and serving my family, grow personally in my walk with Him, and being a Titus 2 woman to those younger than me. This blog is to share what God is doing in my life and in the life of our homeschool.
Princess is 9 years old . She was born a princess and continues to hold the title. She loves all things girlie and is talented in all things crafty.
Pixie is 7 and a half. She has a passion for truth, loves rocks and shells and has a huge collection of them.
Peanut is 5. She is fun loving, happy all the time and can make anybody laugh.
Last night my friend gave me a loaf of her families favorite Cardamom Bread. She makes it every year at Christmas, and I have had the opportunity to have a little through out the years. This time I got my own loaf. Wow, is that stuff good. She put it in a little red loaf pan and tied a ribbon around it. The presentation was so cute that I should have taken a picture of it for this post. But it is too late, because I ate it. All! My favorite way to eat it is toasted with butter, accompanied by a cup of tea. Have you ever had Cardamom bread? Anyone have a good recipe? I am not much a bread maker, but I might try this, if I had the recipe.
Place all ingredients into bread machine in the proper order for your machine. Use the Dough cycle.
At end of the Dough cycle, remove dough from the machine. Place on a lightly floured board, and let it rest, covered, for about 10 minutes.
Shape dough into a loaf, and place it in a 9 x 5 inch greased bread pan. Cover, and let rise for 45 minutes.
Just before baking, brush the top of the dough with a little milk, and slash a line down the center. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from pan, and cool on a wire rack.
That sounds delicious! I happen to have a LOT of cardamom since I bought some for a recipe I used for our missions fair recently. It is very expensive and I was just thinking that I have no idea what I'm going to do with it now -- especially since I don't ever again want the rice dish I had made. I bet allrecipes.com would have a bread recipe. If I find it, I'll forward it to you.
Jennifer :)
Cardamom! I will dig up some recipes for you. Let me know if that is the bread recipe you are talking about... or ask your friend for hers! I would really appreciate it!!!! ;)
hmm. I have heard of it, but don't believe I've ever tasted it.
I liked your previous post where you admitted...(shhh) that you hadn't done any school yet that week, but you advised us moms to do crafts, play etc....just spend time with our kiddos.
that was super advice. I need to hear that more often too!
