I'm a homeschool mom of 3 daughters. My aim in life is to glorify God by loving and serving my family, grow personally in my walk with Him, and being a Titus 2 woman to those younger than me. This blog is to share what God is doing in my life and in the life of our homeschool.

Princess is 9 years old . She was born a princess and continues to hold the title. She loves all things girlie and is talented in all things crafty.

Pixie is 7 and a half. She has a passion for truth, loves rocks and shells and has a huge collection of them.

Peanut is 5. She is fun loving, happy all the time and can make anybody laugh.

Tuesday, December 13, 2005 - I'm Starving

How many of you are being fed real food- not skim milk, 2% milk or even whole milk but real honest to goodness, good for you protein filled steak?

Can I have some too?

I'm really hungry.  Will you share?

Somebody?

Anybody?

"But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.  Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgement."

Hebrews 5:14, 6:1

Leave a note!

Plenty of steak around here.

Yes, I'm Mennonite. I imagine I am not what you are thinking of though. Mennonites too, have differing beliefs and denominations. My Grandma still wears a head covering. I do not. I do wear dresses, but I get them from stores, as I can't sew worth beans. My girls do not. They are very modestly dressed, in pants, dresses make them feel naked.

I can't wait to meet you, but alas I shall have to for awhile. Dear Man had surgery last week and will be puttering about the house for another week or two. He mainly putters from his chair, to the bathroom, to the bed at this point!!

Blessings!

Hi Susan, if you don't already have the Reviving Your Heart trilogy by Nancy Leigh DeMoss, please drop by my blog and enter my contest. You don't have to do anything silly to enter this time :) Just say hi!

From everything you have been sharing, I think you would really be blessed by these books. The Lord's been doing an amazing work in my life through these books.

SOLID FOOD, to be sure!

In His abiding love,
Kari

I have found that as I dig into His Word consistently and take the time to REALLY pray, God answers. It sounds so simplistic. So basic. I tend to want to start in on some special Bible study or talk with a particular person or search through blogs to stimulate thought and discussion on a "deep" spiritual discussion. The truth is that my relationship with God needs to be strengthened first. If you are earnestly seeking, God will bring on the feast.

I think that I read on a previous post that you have a mentor. Sounds wonderful. Are you fully honest with her and does she ask you the hard questions? At our church, we have been blessed beyond measure by a smaller congregation where accountability is emphasized. The interesting thing is that in order for accountability to work, we must be willing to be brutally honest, vulnerable and correctable. It hurts sometimes, but it is SO worth it. It is also a "safe" place in which discussion and debate are not considered threatening, but a way of growth in Truth.

Praying earnestly for Truth, at WHATEVER the cost, will inevitably bring on the meat, believe me. Before we started attending our church, we were at another church that by most Christian's standards seemed alive, vibrant and good, but God stirred my husband and my hearts for His Truth. I was serious with God. I couldn't sing during the service there anymore. I couldn't. I had to know Truth. It's a bit hard to explain the ache in my heart. Anyway, by God's providence, we started attending the church we attend now. It's quite conservative. Jesus was too.

Try praying that God would reveal things in His Word and be willing to DO what it says. Don't try to talk around it, saying, "That was a cultural thing", or "It doesn't mean to actually do that. It is just talking about a spiritual sense." Don't glance over passages that are uncomfortable. If something is totally new, study and PRAY.

Please don't misunderstand me and please forgive me if I'm coming across as prideful. Our church is not perfect. I'm not perfect by any means. But...I have such deep peace since I have started obeying the Word in ways that I was never taught as a child. And...it's so important to deep down know that we can't earn our salvation by works, but we do good works, we obey, we walk out what the Word says out of love and gratefulness to Him who sacrificed everything for us.

Praying for you,
Heidi
