I'm a homeschool mom of 3 daughters. My aim in life is to glorify God by loving and serving my family, grow personally in my walk with Him, and being a Titus 2 woman to those younger than me. This blog is to share what God is doing in my life and in the life of our homeschool.

Princess is 9 years old . She was born a princess and continues to hold the title. She loves all things girlie and is talented in all things crafty.

Pixie is 7 and a half. She has a passion for truth, loves rocks and shells and has a huge collection of them.

Peanut is 5. She is fun loving, happy all the time and can make anybody laugh.

Sunday, January 8, 2006 - Prayer life

I don't usually make resolutions but there has been something on my mind that I want to work on this year.  I really need to work on my prayer life.  It needs to be organized.  I would love to be able to be really counted on to pray if I say I'm going to pray for someone. So often I just forget and then realize later that I really didn't pray, or maybe I only prayed once.  I toss up prayers to God regularly throughout the day, but I rarely sit down for some quiet prayer in which I take part in all the aspects of prayer.(adoration, confession, thanksgiving, supplication).

I want to be very specific in my prayer life.  I want to be diligent in praying for my husband, children, friends, extended family, lost souls, friend of a friend of a friend, our church, our country.  So my game plan is to create a journal. (a 3-ring binder)  I want dividers for each category to pray for.  On each sheet is the name of the person or topic and then a list of things to pray about.  So for the category of children I would have three sheets of paper for my three girls and on that list I would write: salvation, character, difficulties, future, husbands, grandchildren, etc.  You get the picture.  This way I can be sure that I am praying about  all the things that are important.  I have heard that some people schedule their prayer life like they do home care: Mon- wash, Tue -ironing, Wed -shopping, Thur- scrubbing, Fri-baking.

Do any of you have a prayer journal?  How do you do it?  I'd love more ideas.
Blessings,
Susan

Monday, January 16, 2006 - Regarding Prayer Journaling

Posted by takingthechallenge
I started prayer journaling after reading "Let Prayer Change Your Life" by Becky Tirabassi and I loved it. This past year, my son really wanted to have devotions with me and so I got away from doing my prayer journal...but I miss it and have been contemplating spending my evening reading time in prayer journaling instead or additional to the reading. I've really been feeling the Lord tugging at my heart to pray more for our children. The older they get, the more important decisions they are facing and making, the more I'm realizing the importance of praying even more for them.
I hope you'll post later how your prayer journal works out for you.
