THURSDAY'S THOUGHTS

Mar. 7, 2007 - The white crackers
Posted in Kiddos

So, I have to wonder what Faith thinks about communion---I mean, I let her eat white crackers at home, so why not at church?? She didn't really ask this, but the other day when we came home from church, she asked if she could have a white cracker and I said, "sure" and gave her a saltine.

Then she asked if she could have a white cracker at church and I told her no because it was for people who are trusting Jesus Christ and remember his owies on the cross and that he rose again, so she says,
"oh, I remember Him."

So, that's my little blog for today--can't wait to read the comments on this!!!

Oh, I also need to add that a couple of weeks ago, she looked at the wine in my communion cup and asked, "is that grownup juice?"

Mar. 18, 2007 - I've not had that happen yet...

We have communion every Lord's Day but my little ones haven't been so inquisitive. She's a smart one, you better keep your eye on her!!!

BTW, I'm Heather, I just started over here at Homeschool Blogger. I am also due on the same day you are!!! I am expecting baby #7 on September 3rd!!!

I will have to say that I am in agreement with you on the Easter Bunny thing, too. We talk to our children about the resurrection of Christ, instead. We like the chocolate Easter Bunnies and eggs, but we tell the children that there is no Easter Bunny and the same goes for Santa Clause, and the Tooth fairy.

Come by & visit! Blessings!
Heather

Mar. 25, 2007 - Lord's Supper
Posted by Churchwife
We have the Lord's supper every month, and my dd who is 4 asks a lot of questions, and I am very frank with her. I tell her it is only for people who are saved, and that the grape juice represents Christ's blood, and the bread represents Christ's broken body on the cross.
She doesn't understand what everything means, but she will one day.
One time she thought that the grape juice was really Christ's blood. We were in the nursery, and I pointed to a picture of her sister which was on the board. I then pointed to her sister. I said, which one is *really* your sister. She pointed to the live one. Then I said this grape juice is just a picture of Jesus *real* blood which is in heaven on the mercy seat for us.
Our church does allow the kids to eat the left over bread and juice in between services.
