Nov. 10, 2007 - Big Mistake-The Mall!
We made the mistake of going to the mall today. Believe it or not I did not think (before I got stuck in traffic and had to wait at SO MANY traffic lights,) that it would be busy. I FORGOT that Christmas shopping had started...and that EVERYONE and their brother was going to be 'out at the mall'! Plus, to make things worse-they guy in the red suit was going to make his debut at the mall today....UGH!!!!!!!
Well, I learned a lesson-no more errand shopping until after the holidays! (All our Christmas shopping is finished...)
Now it is time to unwind and get ready for Vespers.....

Nov. 9, 2007 - Don't ask...yes, it is a Christmas tree
...completely decorated and set up in our living room. My 16 year old enthusiastic son and his best friend did this for us this afternoon. I think that the first snowfall of the season got to their brains! There is snow on the ground and a tree in the house, and it is only the 9th of November! I guess we'll just keep the tree up!

Nov. 8, 2007 - Presenting...our Advent Wreath
We are celebrating a ‘hybrid’ Advent this year-sort of combining the best of the East (Orthodox) with the Best of the West (hubby is RC)… Nativity Fast begins on the 15th-but the candle lighting won’t start until Saturday evening the 1st of December.
I finished the wreath this afternoon. No accidents with hot glue guns this year…

I apologize for the photo quality. I am having problems with the digital camera settings. If I don’t use a flash-everything comes out that warm yellow. If I do use the flash it is too bright. I guess I have to read the instructions that came with the camera!

Nov. 4, 2007 - Sunday Afternoon Treats!
There is the smell of chocolate brownies...(gluten free! of course) and the smell of chocolate chip cookies in our home this afternoon. It is a cool, cloudy day outside, so we decided to heat up the house by baking! Can' t think of a better way to heat up the house!
We are going to a chamber music concert this evening at a local church. I have never heard the Manhattan Piano Trio before, so it will be a treat! Wow! Treats to eat and a treat for the ears on the same day! I LOVE Sundays! God is good!

Nov. 1, 2007 - Look what we found!-Beeton's Book of Household Management
We made our weekly family trip to the library last evening after dinner. Our daughter checked out some 'cooking' books and we made an interesting find!
Here is the book she first checked out:

Nov. 1, 2007 - Now take down those goblins!!!!
I dislike October 31st...I like November 1st. Now (hopefully) all the neighbors will get rid of those ghoulish decorations of things evil and devilish! Yuck. I hated to go out for walks in the evening because I would have to pass by all those homes! I think that the inflatable horse drawn hearses driven by the skeletons were the worst! All that money spent on death!
We are only missing one hubcab from the hubby's car. No spray painting or smashed pumpkins or thrown trash this year...
Like I said, I hate October 31st...

Oct. 31, 2007 - An Entry...
Got rid of my old page a while back and I forgot my name and password. One of my bad traits is NOT writing anything down... So, a new name and a new blog! Hopefully, entries will get more interesting than this!
