I'm in the mood for cakes today. I know that 4th of July cakes are stretching it a bit, but summer will be here before we know it. The retro cakes are selling in our bakery. I cannot remember why brown was so popular way back then...I do remember orange shag carpet in our living room.
Oh, those all look so good! I was watching them pass by and thinking, okay, that's my favorite...no, that's my favorite, oh, no that's my favorite...they are all so beautiful I can't choose just one fave lol. You are so right, summer will be here before you know it, never to early to start planning. Thanks for sharing those lovely cakes. Julie http://funinthesunmom.blogspot.com
Oh, my! Those are stunning! I love the retro look, and the Fourth of July is near and dear to my heart since my birthday is July 1st. It's a big number coming up this year, but I almost think I could stand it if I could cut into one of your cakes. :-)
Haha, edited to say I just read Canadagirl's entry. My big number beats her big number (why am I bragging about that?)!
I remember the 70s Tupperware colors: rust, avocado green, gold, and brown. Sound familiar?
We had avocado green shag carpet in our living room for years. A good choice, as it didn't show the broccoli soup the kids spilled while eating in front of the TV on a Saturday night. LOL
I just loved that Chocolate Roses cake. I just leaned on my elbow and gained calories watching your "show." *sigh*
But I did cringe a little at all the red on some of those cakes. I find the red food coloring to be excessively bitter and always scrape it off.
What totally cool cakes! I love all the retro stuff. Not especially crazy about olive green, mind you, but love all the other stuff.
I'm one of those people that love the dark brown. I've figured out that it's because it was my household carpet color and I also had other things that color for my home when I got married. It's all very sentimental, don'tcha know. LOL
Thank you for all your sweet comments on my blog! You always brighten my day!
I am not a home educator, but am very proud of my daughter, jenn4him, who homeschools my three precious grandchildren. I admire you all. Thank you for being my source of inspiration.
May God Bless You,
Mama Karen
