Big News from Dr. Jekyll/Mrs. Hyde
|
So, as I mentioned in the previous post, much has happened in the 2 years since I last posted. But the really big news, which is fairly recent, is that we are expecting baby #3!!! I say WE, (even though I am the one carrying the bundle of joy, getting fat, roiling in nausea and morphing between Jekyll and Hyde multiple times a day), because my Knight-in-Shining-Armor Husband has been bravely, and even cheerfully, putting up with the fun that is ME right now. More than that, he has made sure the kids don't starve, the laundry isn't too out of control and the house is fairly quiet while I have been curled in a nauseous haze in some corner. Naturally a new baby is big news for anyone, but for us it seemed extra big because I was diagnosed with a hormone disorder that makes getting pregnant extra challenging. That, I guess, partly explains why our children are fairly widely spaced (age 9, age almost 5, age -6 months). I'm finding their ages to be somewhat of a blessing for me though, since: 1 - I have no other children in diapers to deal with (I shudder at the thought of a poopy diaper in the midst of my hyper-gag-reflex-everything-stinks-to-high-heaven-all-day-pregnancy-sickness phase), AND 2 - my children are old enough to be really helpful, or at least understand the concept of being really quiet when I am cocooned on the couch in a blanket of raging hormones. All that said, I just completed week 12 of this pregnancy and it feels as if the clouds are parting, the sky is clearing and the joy of the upcoming event is beginning to shine through! Translation: Every thought, smell or morsel of food doesn't make me want to throw up. HOORAY! One really appreciates feeling GOOD after spending months feeling AWFUL! |
