Moving the Mountain

Feb. 3, 2007 - Out Partying

I just cannot believe that I haven't had anything interesting enough to blog for so long!  Today, we went to a birthday party for another home-educated boy who lives near us.  He was 7 years old this week.  Yesterday, his Mum rang to say that he had a few "sniffles" and would be still able to come (she always worries about me picking up infections, etc!).  Anyway, we still decided to go as DS loves going to parties!!

There weren't very many guests - another little girl who is home-educated and ourselves for most of the time.  The kiddies had a whale of a time - what is it about balloons that makes children want to bash anything and anyone with them?  Unfortunately, because I love to ham it up - I ended up being the main target!!  Oh for a pin when you in such a situation!!  The only way to get them under control was to announce a game - the old favourite of "Pass the Parcel" - which DS won!!  He got the main prize which was a mask and paints which he can decorate himself.  He has decided that he wants it to be known as "Le Visage" (French for "Face").

The party went well from then on - lots to eat, games to play and of course, the customary blowing out of the candles and opening of presents.

We had a great surprise when it was time to go home - thick fog!!  This morning it was almost summer-like with bright sunshine, this evening it is damp, dark and quite spooky!  British weather, eh?
