Feb. 4, 2007 - Sunday Deliveries?
We were surprised and rather shocked to find that, whilst we were at Church this morning, a delivery firm had attempted to deliver a parcel to our house. This wasn't the usual Royal Mail delivery service, but a private company - they left a card through the door which gave a website address as well as a phone number to call to arrange a re-delivery. What we could not understand was that it clearly stated on the card that this firm delivers from Monday to Saturdays only!! Why on earth was someone out delivering for them on a Sunday?!
We think that they were trying to deliver some course material for my husband's Open University course - something which he needs fairly quickly! When we accessed their website (there was no-one answering the phone - so at least the office staff don't work on the Sabbath Day!) the earliest they could re-deliver was Tuesday. However, I have to be at the hospital early that morning for my CT scan, so that wasn't convenient! If they can manage to get here on Wednesday morning - we're in; but, if they can't, we're out in the afternoon at a Home-Ed event!! What a shambles!!
Ah well, such is life! Britain is slowly losing the "holiness" of the Sabbath - Sunday is becoming just another day of the week! Not in this house!!

What a bummer!! If they would have just followed their own rules you could have gotten tomorrow morning and saved youra big headache!!! It is a shame that so many places are open on Sunday.

I've never heard of a delivery on Sunday! Oh well, I hope you can get it soon. The party yesterday sounds like it was fun. Glad you enjoyed yourself. Keep us posted about the scan on Tuesday - OK? It's great to see you blogging a bit more - I missed you Christy!
Feb. 21, 2007 - Keeping it holy

Canada long ago gave up a holy Sabbath and has seen the error of its ways through high stress, break downs and loss of productivity. It is up to us to keep it holy.
