Feb. 24, 2007 - Medical Update
Well, there has been a lot going on since I last wrote. I have been back and forth to the hospital over a period of weeks and the news after my CT scan was not very good. After having been "dormant" for quite a long period of time, the tumours throughout my body have started to grow again! However, there are several options for treatment. Next Wednesday, I am going for a consultation with Prof. Illidge, who is a radio-isotope specialist. We are going to discuss the viability of another dose of MIBG treatment. Following that, there is another new drug that I could take - this time in the form of tablets.
To say that this news was disappointing is an understatement - I am reeling at the thought of more treatment and am finding it difficult to concentrate on anything else at the moment. Thankfully DH is being strong and DS is just being his usual 11-year-old self! We are trying to keep things as "samey" as possible for him.
So, that's all for now, will update again on Wednesday evening.
