Moving the Mountain

Apr. 10, 2008 - Thankful Thursday

Whenever anyone thinks of the British, they tend to think of people who are forever talking about (and invariably complaining about) the weather!

We live in a temperate climate, so have to expect whatever type of weather God decides we need on a particular day.  So this week, I am mostly thankful for these different types of weather.

On Sunday, we woke up to find snow on the ground.  Throughout the rest of the week we have had rain showers, sleet, more snow and the most bitingly cold winds.  Today, it finally seems as though Spring has sprung!  I was truly thankful that we were able to get outside into the sunshine for a change - even if it was still rather cold!

So, thank you, Lord for giving us a beautiful country to live in and a variety of weathers to enjoy.  I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

This is what the LORD says to me:
"I will remain quiet and will look on from my dwelling place,
like shimmering heat in the sunshine,
like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest."
 - Isaiah 18:4

I am so glad you stopped by!
How lovely to be able to see God's blessings in everything, especially what we usually take for granted.
I have lived in England for years, with my late grand father who was a Greek Orthodox priest there, so I'm pleased to meet you, even more.
Be always blessed.

Thanks for the reminder to praise the Lord whatever the weather! I do struggle with grey days, but we do have amazing shades of green in our countryside simply because we have rain.

Tamara told us you were sick, I never knew - I have visited with your comments around the blogosphere, and been here a few times, but I want you to know I'm praying.

There is a prayer in the Sidur - that's a Hebrew Prayer book.
Blessed Are You, Adonai our God, King of the Universe who fashioned man with wisdom and created within him may openings and many cavities. It is obvious and known before Your Throne of Glory that if one of them were to be ruptured or but one of them were to be blocked, it would be impossible to survive and to stand before You. Blessed are You, Adonai, Who heals all flesh and acts wondrously.

I pray this prayer for you MamaSmurf, that what ever it is that is keeping you from blogging, that all healing is given to you - that everything in your body is working as God created it to.
