Moving the Mountain

Jun. 26, 2008 - Thankful Thursday

After a day like yesterday, you might think that I'm not feeling very thankful today!  You couldn't be further from the truth!

First of all, I'm thankful to God for having listened to my prayers and making my bladder infection so much better.  This had really been getting me down and making me "niggly", however, it is now well on its way to being gone!

Second, I am thankful for my blogging friends and others who read yesterday's post for their sound advice regarding my son - take each day as it comes; don't quash his natural "softness"; he's going through big physical changes which he doesn't fully understand; and talk to him!  I even asked him if he'd feel better starting the day with a hug - he very nearly squashed me!  Prayer has also helped - God knows what Littlesmurf is like and how to lead him in his dealings with his parents - He has definitely used His hand today!

I'm sitting here blogging away and listening to the rain pouring down outside - but I'm thankful that God has sent the rain.  It has been very hot and sticky here over the past weeks, so this rain is very needed!  You can almost hear the plants sucking it up!

I'm also thankful to have my life - every day is precious!

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." - Colossians 4:2

I'm so glad that you are feeling better, and that you have had a better day. I'll try to ring tonight when I get one child picked up and the other four into bed! Hopefully not too late this time!

Thanks God your infection is already controlled. Good to hear you are better. I always associate rain with God's love -it keeps us growing like the plants with the rain.

I am so glad to read that your blogging friends were able to give you advice about your son. It is so hard for boys when they are in their teenage years - they don't know what is happening to them and don't know how to react to it...

I am glad that you are feeling better...

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us.

Be blessed today and always..

I love your Thankful Thursday posts, especially when you remind me that the (not brilliant) British weather is often a blessing!
Hope you are having a VERY GOOD day today!
God bless you!

I was thinking about you this afternoon whilst I sorted 1000 Hama beads (don't ask!) and praying for you. It came to mind that one thing my sister-in-law said about teenagers was that like babies/toddlers they get really cranky when they are hungry! At the time I was commenting on my boys liking of regular mealtimes. She replied, 'Remember, don't even TRY to talk to a hungry teenager - ALWAYS feed them first!' Mind you, she had 2 very awkward teenagers at the time and I think they needed a lot more than food. Anyway, just thought I'd pass that on, in case it's any help!
