new to blogging.
Hello, I am new to blogging. I have never done it before, but I thought that I would try it. It seems to be the new rave with lots of people I know locally who homeschool. I hope to get to know you all and maybe learn something along the way. A little about my self is that I have been homeschooing for about 9 years and still don't always know the best method to which I should homeschool. I have tried being really strict and also tried doing nothing at all. Now we are kind of in the middle. We do some structered schooling and then we have some days that we do nothing at all. I guess it changes constantly. Does this happen to anyone else?

Dec. 12, 2005 - Hi and welcome!!
Wanted to welcome you. I like the look of your blog. Your homeschooling sounds like ours. We've been at it 10 years and I can't say we have a particular style. We loosely follow the WTM suggestions, some Sonlight materials, K12, and alot of reading and read a louds. Some days/weeks are very structured and others are very carefree. That's what I love about homeschooling, it's all about what works for you and your family. I truely believe there is no one right way. It will look different for each family.
Dec. 12, 2005 - Hi Kathy!!!
Welcome to HSB. I think you are really going to love this whole blogging thing. You are such an outgoing person, I know you'll make lots of friends really quick. If you have any questions about technical stuff, give me a holler.

Yes, welcome! I am fairly new to this, too, but have loved meeting new people and getting to know them. Our homeschooling journey is in it's fifth year and we are constantly evolving in it. This is the most relaxed year yet......but for some reason, we are getting more done. I think it is because I am relaxed! Look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Kathy!
Welcome to HSB!!! Although you are further down the hs'ing road than I am, I think you are doing what everyone does! I think that with our different seasons in life, homeschooling allows us to adjust our schedules and daily routines. I couldn't imagine being strict with a newborn around. And I hope things get less mommy-time-intensive as the boys grow and develop greater self-discipline.
I can't wait to hear more about your adventures!
God bless you,
Marsha

You can see that for many people homeschooling swings from one side to the other from time to time. You will be able to meet many people here to learn from and to help along. Welcome to HSB! We are glad that you are here.
