Homeschooling is a natural way of life

Please visit me at my other blog....

I don't want to let this one go, however I seem to have been stupid with it and cannot continue.  All of my entries are copied and pasted, and a little while back I began to get a warning message of some kind about copying and pasting allowing access to my note pad or word pad or ????.  Anyway, I kept posting anyway and would click "Allow", and now someone or something has gotten me!  My computer is crashing all the time~my screen starts flashing and all these different pages get pulled up~ACK!  I have no idea what's going on or how to fix it.  ~sigh~  For this reason, I'm gonna hafta use my WordPress blog only for a while.  If I happen to be at the library, maybe I'll copy and paste some more entries from there...  http://titus2woman.wordpress.com  (((((HUGS)))))  sandi

What a Weekend!

This past weekend was FULL of *amazing* events!  It began on Friday when my darling bought a new van.  WOOHOOO!  We’ve never owned a vehicle so new (less than ten years old), and I am SO PROUD of my darling!  He paid for it outright with cash~we have no monthly payment~it’s a DONE DEAL!  Of course the second it was done and our savings was gone, he immediately thought, “WHAT have I DONE?!”  but you know, having *reliable* transportation for the first time in YEARS will result in him being able to keep his good job, and I no longer hafta wonder if he’ll get stranded on the way to or from work~and with no way to get to him!  PTL!

On Saturday we went to a very special celebration.  Dear friends of ours have a daughter that has just turned thirteen, and they had a party to honor her and encourage her in a life of Biblical womanhood.  Everyone wrote down and shared their Biblical charge or prayer for her life, and *I* as a grown woman was pretty encouraged myself!  LOL!  It was FANTASTIC!  I also got to play my mountain dulcimer, and my Allen sang “O Master, Let Me Walk With Thee” with me.  My charge to her was to live a life of service, and here are the words to that very precious hymn by Washington Gladden:

O master let me walk with Thee

In lowly paths of service free.

Tell me Thy secret help me bear

The strain of toil the fret of care.

Help me the slow of heart to move

By some clear, winning word of love;

Teach me the wayward feet to stay

And guide them in the homeward way.

Teach me Thy patience!  still with Thee

In closer, dearer company,

In work that keeps faith sweet and strong,

In trust that triumphs over wrong.

In hope that sends a shining ray

Far down the future’s broad’ning way,

In peace that only Thou canst give,

With Thee, O master, let me live.

Prayer Monday

1.)  Please continue to pray for Preston’s eczema, and Hazel has a rash on her face.

2.)  Please pray for the homeless and the hungry today.

3.)  Please take a moment and pray for widows.

4.)  Please pray for Amanda:  “I need prayer today. I am angry, exhausted, and overwhelmed, not a good place to be.”

5.)  So sorry!  I don’t know how I missed this one from Amanda last week!  Even though the date in question has passed, let’s still lift this lady in prayer for her coming journey!  “My dear friend, Yolanda, is moved from the county jail to prison on Friday. She is starting a drug recovery program there. Pray that this transition go smoothly and that she would cling to God.”

6.)  Homeskoolmom shares:  “Please pray for a young lady from the KC area. Her name is Marielle and she is 8 years old. She has been battling cancer for over a year and is currently in ICU in Vermont. Her and her family have been all over the country during the last year for treatment. She was doing well a few months ago, but had a relapse. Of course she cannot begin treatments again until she is out of ICU.

Also pray for us as we travel later this week and next. We are going to the Creation Museum — Yippee!!!”

7.)  Chrissy asks:  “I am going into hospital in the morning for radio-isotope treatment. This will mean a stay of about 10 -14 days with daily visits (by Dh only!) of half an hour allowed. Afterwards, I have to stay away from children and expectant mothers for quite some time also.
Pray that the treatment will be successful and that my two “guys” will be OK without me at home (especially DS).”

8.)  Your request goes here~leave me a comment!

SiLLiNeSS!

Starting with some dulcimer carry-over….

1.) Every once in a while a dulcimer player will come through for a visit, and so far all the men have been Daves. Now my darling thinks all dulcimer players are named Dave! LOL!

2.) My darling also thinks that all dulcimer songs are about Joe, ie. “Cotton Eyed Joe”, “Down the River I Go, Uncle Joe”, “Old Joe Clark”.

3.) So my darling wants to know how Eliza Jane died on the train. I tell him it doesn’t say. He replies, “I think she was murdered, and I know who did it!” Of course I bite and ask who. “Joe!” ROFLOL!

4.) Allen chimes in, “NO! The EVIL MASTER OF THE UNDERWORLD paid Joe to kill Eliza Jane!” My darling just shakes his head. “These are dulcimer players, Al. There are no evil masters of the underworld!”

Back to my regularly scheduled program….

5.) My darling says that Hazel and I are the nursing Matrix because of her many crazy positions~LOL! How can she breath attached and standing with her bottom in the air?

6.) When Preston used to nurse, he’d always miss! OH was he FUNNY!

7.) Hazel had a rash recently, so I let her run around and get some air for a bit. She then must’ve done some kind of radioactive poop in the hall way, because the boys went BALLISTIC! They were holding back curtains and screaming, and when my darling asked for some napkins they didn’t move and shouted, “They’re over there!” This is my darling’s retelling of it anyway~OH the belly laughs hearing him go on and on and on!

8.) Preston calls Menu “recipes”.

9.) We happen to LOVE our ice cream man. Even Hazel who won’t let ANYONE get near her. He asked her recently if she wanted to come and play with his baby son, and she promptly shook her head no! HA HA HA HA HA!

I've been TAGGED! LOVE IT!

1.)   I heart Tony Blankley!

2.)  I have seasons of weird ticks~making funny noises with my lips or excessive blinking or clearing my throat (I *don’t think* all in the same season…).  My darling says I haven’t done these things in a long time.

3.)  My darling says I have a “flexi-nose”.

4.)  My darling and boys always joke about my health advice.  They walk around saying, ”My finger hurts~put some breastmilk on it!”

5.)  I am sensitive to the *extreme*, and I hate it!  I would change that if I could.

6.)  My goal is to be successful in my business venture not only so I can take over payments for my own product, but also to put someone else on the program who couldn’t otherwise afford it when I reach my goal weight.

7.)  I really, really wanna know what EVERYONE’S day looks like as I’m puttering about my own house.  What’s the first thing y’all do when you get up?  What comes next?  How are we the same in what we do, and how do we differ?  It FASCINATES ME!

8.)  I LOVE to be TAGGED!

Recipe Wednesday: Turkey Mushroom Burgers

This is actually a made-up recipe~and I really don’t have many of those.  It’s an eyeball kinda thing~so I don’t have exact measurments.

1 lb. ground turkey

2 slices firm bread for breadcrumbs

1 egg

1 or 2 4-oz. cans of mushrooms

Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce

garlic to taste

salt and pepper to taste

cumin to taste (don’t be stingy!)

powdered mustard to taste

ketchup and mustard to taste

*I think* that’s everything~LOL!

Okay, so mix the above ingredients and pat out into six burgers.  Cook in a pan with oil, dousing each side with a little more Lea and Perrins.  I have found that using a little Lea and Perrins *every time* (for *any* recipe) I brown ground turkey makes it taste a little beefier.

Top with cheese, if desired.  Makes six burgers.  (((((HUGS)))))  sandi
