Wow I can't belive how long it's been since I last posted, time has really flown I'll try and bring you up to date with the important stuff.
In the first week of the school holidays I went to State Music camp (It wasn’t really a camp because I didn’t sleep there. Hannah and I caught the bus in every day - I went to Music camp and Hannah wandered around the city). It was held at St Peters which is a private school in the city. There was one ensemble, one band, two orchestras and a string ensemble. All together there were about three hundred musicians. I was in the Roberts Wind Ensemble. It was a lot bigger than Dawn to Dusk (my usual band) with about fifty musicians (Dawn to Dusk only has about fifteen). The Roberts Wind Ensemble was for about grade two music level which was good because I’d just done my grade two flute exam. I had to audition to get into the music camp. it was pretty scary but not very hard. The music camp was a really good experience and it was fun meeting some new flutists.
At the beginning of this year Hannah joined the Tea Tree Gully Redbacks! They are a community concert and marching band that plays at lots of different events. The first major event that they did was to go to Sydney to preform in the National Band Championships, in which they came 3rd. On Anzac day they played at the TTG dawn service, and then went into the city to march in the Anzac Day Parade. They had to march twice becouse there weren't many bands.
As well as playing at some local events they also played at the Royal Adelaide show every night for nine nights straight. They played a number of songs with some dance type moves to go with it. One of the songs they played was the Macarena and on the days I went to the show I danced to it. At the end of the year they will march in some of the Christmas Pageants including the Adelaide Credit Union Pageant. Next year I will be auditioning to go into the Redbacks as well.
Throughout this year I have been to see a few musicals. I saw Phantom of the Opera - that was amazing to see. It had a huge chandelier! We also went to see the Sound of Music which was a great play though it was a bit different than the movie. The Pheasant Prince was another one I saw. It was a story book read out with pictures and lights on the walls while the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra played music to do with where the story was at. I also saw one just a few nights ago which was the Pirates of Penzance which was done by the school I used to go to. Later this year I am going to another one called Calamity Jane.
Hello everyone I hope you had as good a holiday as me. I thought I should post since I haven't in over a month. Amelia came over in the holidays and we had lots of fun. On Tuesday we went with some friends to the drive in and watched Monsters V Alien and Race to Witch Mountion. I liked Race to Witch Mountion more than Monsters V Alien (Monsters V Alien was a bit kidish, if thats even a word). On Wensday we went to Gourge Wildlife Park. At Gourge Wildlife Park we could feed the animals biscuits almost all the animals liked them even the wombats and the bats. I liked the bats the best but Amelia didn't like them.

Bye Bye Birdy
I saw a bird being run over by a car today. Stephen and I were on our bikes waiting to cross a road and I was watching a bird waiting for it to fly away from the car coming toward it but it didn't. There was a horrible crunching sound and feathers went everywhere

The Sound of Music
Yesterday my family and I went with some friends to watch The Sound of Music at the Shedley Theatre. It was great and I got to sit in the front. The play wasn't as good as the movie but it made up for that being able to see it live. Also they added more songs than there are in the movie, but Hannah noticed that one of the extra songs was to one of the tunes you can hear in the waltz that was played at the party that the Captain Von Trap hosts for Baroness Elas Schrader.
At last the guinea pigs are gone! The friends we were looking after the guinea pigs for have come back and taken them away. I'm glad the guinea pigs are gone because while baby guinea pigs are very cute they stink and I usually I end up feeding them.

Another one
Two days ago Hannah and I had just got back from delivering catalogues when Stephen came out and said that he'd found another baby guinea pig. We went and looked and there was, we think that one of the guinea pigs must of given birth to it. The baby is almost as big as the baby guinea pigs I told you about a couple of posts ago even though it can't be more than a couple of days old.
PS A couple of days ago I saw a huntsman I thought it was huge but Hannah says it wasn't that big.

Family Fun Day
Last Sunday I played my flute in church and then later Dawn to Dusk played at family fun day. It was lots of fun playing in the band and in church, especially since this the first concert Dawn to Dusk has played in this year. I hope you had as fun and Sunday as I did.

Baby Guinea pigs
Yesterday something very exicting happened. A pregnant guinea pig called Jaffa that my family and I are looking after for some friends gave birth to four beautiful babys. There were actually seven babys but three were already dead when we found them. No one actually saw Jaffa give birth but we know it was within the day.
If you don't like gory details don't read this next bit.
There was lots of blood and ants everywhere and I saw Jaffa eating the afterbirth of one of the babys. One of the babys still had the umbilical cord attached to it for a while. At first the mother didn't seem intrested in feeding the babys, and instead chewed most of the hair of her bottom but she seems to be feeding them now.

Catalogues
Since before Christmas last year Hannah and I have had a job delivering catalogues. It is hard work but it's not too bad and it pays pretty well. First the catalogues get delivered to our house then we have to fold them so that they stay together, Stephen usually helps with that part. Then we have to deliver them it usually takes about three hours to deliver them on our bikes.

Melbourne
At the beginning of January all of my family except Hannah (who went to CE camp), went to Melbourne to attend my cousin’s wedding. It was a really good wedding in a huge church with an afternoon tea afterwards and later at the reception tea, the food was nice and we got to dance after the meal. We didn't get back to the motel we were staying at till really late.
While we were in Melbourne we went to a Science Museum called Sicence Works. It had a Planetarium and it was really cool because they made it looked like the night sky but clearer so you could see all the stars. We also went to see a lighting show where they explained how lightning could be conducted and made artificial lightning so we could see it ourselves. They had a lot of hands on exhibits which Stephen and I really enjoyed.
On the way back from Melbourne we stopped at Sovereign Hill (a pretend town based on a 1850s mining town) in Ballarat. There was a Chinese camp in the town which had a temple which explained why the Chinese came to the town. While we were there some people dressed as red coats (soldiers) fired their muskets (it was very loud) and we got to have our picture taken with them. There was a candle shop where we saw how candles were made and could paint are own. There was also a bowling Alley where we played 9-Pin bowling (there's a story that they used to get orphans to stand the pins back up). The entire alley was made out of wood. A stage coach gave people a ride around the town. By the end of the day, we were very hot, dusty and exhausted but we still had a great time and we made good use of the hotel swimming pool!

Youth Group
Yesterday Hannah and I went to youth group. It was the last youth group for the year so we went ice sledding the Maude's had set up a slide on the hill at the back of the church and we took turns sledding down it on big blocks of ice it was heaps of fun after it began to get dark we had a water fight and got dripping wet then after we changed into some dry clothes we had a lucky dip - we each had brought a present to youth group and now we each picked up a paddle pop stick which had a name written on it then before looking to see who we had to give the present too we picked a present from the pile the gave it to the person whose name was written on the paddle pop stick.

A Teenager's View of Heaven
A friend sent this to me in an email and I thought that it was good.
A Teenager's View of Heaven
17-year-old Brian Moore had only a short time to write something for a class. The subject was what Heaven was like. 'I wowed 'em,' he later told his father, Bruce. 'It's a killer. It's the bomb. It's the best thing I ever wrote..' It also was the last.
Brian Moore died May 27, 1997, the day after Memorial Day. He was driving home from a friend's house when his car went off Bulen-Pierce Road in Pickaway County and struck a utility pole. He emerged from the wreck unharmed but stepped on a downed power line and was electrocuted.
The Moores framed a copy of Brian's essay and hung it among the family portraits in the living room. 'I think God used him to make a point. I think we were meant to find it and make something out of it,' Mrs. Moore said of the essay. She and her husband want to share their son's vision of life after death. 'I'm happy for Brian. I know he's in heaven.. I know I'll see him.'
Brian's Essay: The Room...
In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in the room. There were no distinguishing features except for the one wall covered with small index card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endless in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was one that read 'Girls I have liked.' I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one. And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was.
This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldn't match. A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.
A file named 'Friends' was next to one marked 'Friends I have betrayed.' The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird 'Books I Have Read,' 'Lies I Have Told,' 'Comfort I have Given,' 'Jokes I Have Laughed at .' Some were almost hilarious in their exactness: 'Things I've yelled at my brothers.' Others I couldn't laugh at: 'Things I Have Done in My Anger', 'Things I Have Muttered Under My Breath at My Parents.' I never ceased to be surprised by the contents.
Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped. I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it be possible that I had the time in my years to fill each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature.
When I pulled out the file marked 'TV Shows I have watched', I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or three yards, I hadn't found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of shows but more by the vast time I knew that file represented.
When I came to a file marked 'Lustful Thoughts,' I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content.
I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded. An almost animal rage broke on me. One thought dominated my mind: No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!' In insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didn't matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it.
Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh.
And then I saw it.. The title bore 'People I Have Shared the Gospel With.' The handle was brighter than those around it, newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand.
And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that they hurt. They started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room. I must lock it up and hide the key. But then as I pushed away the tears, I saw Him.
No, please not Him. Not here. Oh, anyone but Jesus. I watched helplessly as He began to open the files and read the cards. I couldn't bear to watch His response. And in the moments I could bring myself to look at His face, I saw a sorrow deeper than my own.
He seemed to intuitively go to the worst boxes. Why did He have to read every one? Finally He turned and looked at me from across the room. He looked at me with pity in His eyes. But this was a pity that didn't anger me.. I dropped my head, covered my face with my hands and began to cry again. He walked over and put His arm around me. He could have said so many things. But He didn't say a word. He just cried with me.
Then He got up and walked back to the wall of files. Starting at one end of the room, He took out a file and, one by one, began to sign His name over mine on each card. 'No!' I shouted rushing to Him. All I could find to say was 'No, no,' as I pulled the card from Him. His name shouldn't be on these cards. But there it was, written in red so rich, so dark, so alive. The name of Jesus covered mine. It was written with His blood. He gently took the card back. He smiled a sad smile and began to sign the cards.. I don't think I'll ever understand how He did it so quickly, but the next instant it seemed I heard Him close the last file and walk back to my side.
He placed His hand on my shoulder and said, 'It is finished.' I stood up, and He led me out of the room.
There was no lock on its door. There were still cards to be written.
'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'-Phil. 4:13
'For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.'
What do you think?

More Busking
Today we went busking again but this time we took Jaryd and his saxaphone along with us. That made seven of us. We're not actually meant to busk with more than six people but we got special permission. Also this time we could busk for longer because last time Jenna had to work. We busked for half hour sessions at a time then we would find a new spot and have a break, We busked for four sessions. It is school holidays now so there were lots more buskers which made it hard to find a spot. Today we earned $163.65 which we are going to save it for next year’s Operation Christmas Child.
Ps a couple of people came during our breaks and gave us money when we weren't even playing!

Italian Village
Today I went to the Italian Village again. This time I wasn't singing, I was playing my flute. I was doing it with a group of people from my church who were on other instruments. We played lots of Christmas Carols and sometimes someone told a little bit about the songs we were going to play. We played at to two different parts of the Italian Village It was fun but very tiring.
