Apr. 12, 2007 Dogs, dogs, dogs!
| As if I didn't have enough to do...my life is full of dogs lately. We have an 11 year old boxer named Maddy. She had a huge tumor growing between her toes and we had it removed. It has been a bit of a hassle keeping her from getting to it and keeping it dry because of the recent rains so it became infected. So, back again Monday to the vet for the third time! |

Dec. 21, 2006 Yesterday...
I was getting ready to take Nicolas to the cardiologist when my husband called and told me he was glancing through the obituaries and saw that a friend of his had died. He was in a motorcycle accident on 9/26 and was in a coma all this time. He was the person my husband talked to about dogs and kennels and was such a great, giving guy. Still processing it.
Nicolas got a good report at the cardiologist. They wanted to do an echo but the little stinker wouldn't cooperate. Five years since the surgery.....amazing how things fade into the background with time. |

Dec. 16, 2006 Time for a break!
After a cold made a comeback (complete with Lucas throwing up) I have officially thrown in the school towel until after the holidays. I just can't do it! Can't make my brain work!
I have been on iTunes quite a bit listening to different things. I bought some music from Charlie Brown Christmas, some of Third Day's Christmas songs, a Chipmunk song (which Nicolas loves) and some Christmas jazz *gasp*.
Also been downloading FREE kids (old) radio shows from kiddierecords.com. Such a different atmosphere in the home with music and radio then the TV blasting! |

Dec. 15, 2006 Still waiting!
| No deal, apparently. We got a ridiculous lowball offer, lower than the selling price of several similar properties around here with less land and house than we do. So we have to keep hanging in there. But I am so over this, so over sitting around with my things packed up and trying to keep up homeschooling, not being able to make long term plans for the kids. |

Dec. 11, 2006 Waiting for the Red Sea to part!
After eight months we have someone interested in our property. We are supposed to sit down, possibly today to hammer out a deal.
Say a prayer for us! We are quite ready to move on! |

YOU KNOW
YOU ARE LIVING IN 2006 when...
1.
You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.
2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.
3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.
4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.
5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they
don't have e-mail addresses.
6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is
home to help you carry in the groceries.
7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.
8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first
20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn
around to go and get it.
10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your
coffee.
11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )
12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.
13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.
14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.
15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't
a #9 on this list
AND NOW U R LAUGHING at yourself.
Go on, forward this to your friends. You know you want to

Dec. 2, 2006 What Nicolas said...
To the average parent it must seem strange that I get so excited about the things Nicolas says. But what I have learned having a child like this is that every milestone is a miracle and worth getting excited about! It shows he is learning and growing.
We were at the doctor's office (he has strep) and he took the stethoscope, put in on and put it on the doctor's chest. She asked was he was listening to and he said, "the heart".
Smart dude!

Dec. 2, 2006 Our trip to Tennessee
We stayed an extra day after the memorial service to drive up and look at a kennel property near Gatlinburg. The house was too small and the kennel too run down but we had a great drive through the Smokies afterward!
The drive got hairy at times - we were pretty high up and driving through the clouds at times (yes, Emilio was driving). We stopped along a road where a bunch of people were standing around and saw some bears.
A proud homeschooling moment occurred when Lucas wanted to know if we were in the mountains . I guess he needs to watch less of the Food Network and go outside more.

Dec. 2, 2006 Starting over!
I'll begin by stating that my template bears no resemblance to where I actually live, which is Florida. I WISH I were in the mountains with horses !!
