• Apr. 26, 2007 - The New Girl on the Block

Hi everyone! I'm new to homeschoolblogger but not to homeschooling. I have 5 daughters and have homeschooled for 15 years. My girls are 23 (grad in 2002), 20 (grad in 2006), 18 (grad this year), 14 (9th gr), and 9 (3rd gr). We are in ATI (Advanced Training Institute) and also use a variety of curriculum. I have been on this journey for the last 9 years as a "single" mom. My husband divorced me after 16 years of marriage, but I still consider myself married. I said 'til death us do part and I meant it. God is so amazing and faithful to provide when we do what He calls us to do. We have recently moved to KY from FL after living there 32 years. It has been a very difficult transition because I had such a wonderful network of friends there. We moved here with my Mom to care for her as this is close to all my brothers and sisters. She wanted to be close to them so they could help me care for her as she has had cancer twice in the last two years and also has macular degeneration. I know this is God's will for me right now but it sure was hard to move away from my husband and my oldest daughter who is married and expecting her first baby in August. We are learning about seasons, farm life (we have 5 acres), and trusting God more than ever. I'm looking forward to meeting new friends and being part of this community.

Hello from Wa. state and welcome to Homeschool blogger. We have some good friends who homeschooled their children using ATI, and they were at the front end of the homeschooling movement in the mid 80's. Both of their children are now married with families of their own. I pray that you and your girls are able to adjust to your new home and that God brings many good friends your way!

I have been blogging almost a year ~ I have had fun, honed my writing and thinking skills and, as a bonus... met the most wonderful "virtual" friends.
