Things are slowly starting up around here. Some of our activities are up and running, and others will be soon.

We have music lessons on Monday afternoon. These have been going on all summer, so that's not a change.

Normally, on Tuesdays, I have Bible study, but we're not meeting this week, so we have an extra morning at home.

Wednesday my middle son has rehearsal for a worship celebration at our church. He's on the youth liturgical dance team. Normally, he'd be at youth group, but he has to skip it this week for practice since it's a dress rehearsal.

And, on Thursday, my middle son has barbershop practice. He joined a local barbershop organization over the summer, which he really seems to enjoy.

That's the extent of our extra-curricular activities this week. Next week, a few other activities begin, like gym class and co-op.

Baseball season is starting for my oldest this week. He loves baseball and waits eagerly all fall and winter for the first practice, and now finally, the first game is almost here.

I'm looking forward to the end of May. This is always a busy month for us and I am looking forward to a break in the running.

Sunday: church and possibly joining church friends at an annual camp-out for
             the day. We don't camp, but we can hang out with them for the day.

There will probably be more baseball practices scheduled as the week goes on. The little league season starts next week, so that means games twice a week.

This time of year is always busy in our house. The school year is still going on, so we have the normal school stuff--studying, gym class, field trips, etc. Plus, the summer stuff is starting up, so we are adding 4-H meetings, baseball and other things to our schedule. I'm  usually very glad when the month of May is over. Here's what we're doing this week.

It's hard to think about planning for the week with a snow storm going on around me. Everything for tonight is cancelled. Yesterday, I saw my first robin of the season. That should mean spring. Today, it's cold and snowy. That's winter in Wisconsin! Anyway, here's our schedule for this week.

Another week is starting already. It amazes me how quickly the weeks go. This week's schedule may have to have some changes, depending on the health of the kids. My oldest hurt his back today while feeding calves. He slipped on some ice and fell. Earlier this evening, he was in a lot of pain and he's been icing it. so we'll have to see how he is as the week goes on.

This looks like a fairly easy week, which, based on how I'm feeling tonight, is a good thing. I'm coming down with some type of respiratory bug, which in turn makes my asthma act up. Every time I try to lay down and rest, my lungs start to wheeze and I cough and can't sleep. Anyway, on with the schedule.

It's time to look ahead to another week. This week is a bit busier than I'd like, but I've had busier.

                 from Focus on the Family for the next 13 weeks)

Now that Christmas is over, our schedule has settled down a bit. That's a good thing. I was beginning to feel like we were never home. Here's our plan for this week:

Monday: School in the morning--Math, English, Language
           Arts
        Music lessons
        Finish school--Science

Tuesday: Gym class at the YMCA while Mom is at Bible
              study in the morning
         School in the afternoon--Health and Art
         If school work is done, the boys get to go play
              dodgeball at the YMCA late afternoon

Wednesday: School all day--Math, English, Language Arts,
               History, Science
           Children's choir at church in the evening

Thursday:  School in the morning--Math, English,
               Language Arts
           If schoolwork is done, they get to go bowling
               with our local homeschool group in the
               afternoon
           Gymnastics in the evening

Friday: All day homeschool science day at a local
            University

Saturday: Nothing scheduled

Sunday: Church, Sunday School, Youth group & Awana

Of course, with the weather that's predicted for later this week, with wind chills at -30ish, some activities may be cancelled. Plus, there are currently 2 sick and/or recovering kids in the house, so if more of us get it, that could also affect the schedule.

I was thinking that this past week was my busiest week of the month. However, as I'm looking over our schedule for next week, I'm wondering if that's true.

I'm a day late with my schedule this week. I was busy with Thanksgiving yesterday, so it didn't get done at it's normal time. Here's our schedule for this week:

              Dodgeball at the YMCA for the boys
              Sleepover at Grandma's for my daughter

My next step is to get the lesson planning done. I haven't been doing as detailed plans lately as I should. I need to get back to doing that, or nothing gets done.

Every Saturday, I try to find a few minutes to sit down and look over my schedule for the upcoming week. It tends to be a lot of the same stuff every week, but I still like knowing for sure what's planned. So.. here's our schedule for next week, not including the obvious school every day, except Tuesday--that's our "day off" to run errands, etc.

Tuesday: Bible study for Mom

              Liturgical dance practice for "G"

Saturday: Family Thanksgiving get-together at our house (19 people total)

That's what we'll be doing this week. It's actually an easy week for me, at least on paper. I never know what's going to actually happen.
