Independence Day!
It has been two years since we moved here to this town and our first ( mortgaged ) home.
What blessings we have found in a home of our own.
The boys celebrated by getting the promised new 'big boy' bikes.
What a blessing it is to be able to go right down the street to use the rec. park's grassy playing fields to learn to ride with no training wheels and come back home with both boys riding well on the sidewalk!
I hope learning to read is gonna be like this... having had opportunity to learn the basics an dthen just simply take off with the one on one time I am providing them.
We also had a visitor with us most of the day a little 11yo girl from the neighborhood. She doesn't have any siblings in her home so she really likes to spend time with us when her school friends are busy. WOW, what a help it is just to have one more 'older child' around to take intrest in the younger ones! I always let her know what a blessing she is but never pressure her to come back often... she usually comes to visit a few times every couple of months.
Our little friend had a great time helping me teach Sophia to walk to and from one another. Sophia is doing great she can stand really well but gets wobbly when taking steps on her own. She also will try to stand without something to pull up on so it won' t be long and she will be a 'walker'. Her seond top middle tooth is appearing through the gum now! One year old on saturday, yahy!
Lina enjoyed having another girl to interact with as well. Lina was more calm and focused because she wasn't trying to keep up with her big brothers.
We did some gardening as it was the perfect thing to do with a friend.
We thought of going to fireworks display but the nearest one was over a half hour away so we decided to try to catch the one just north of us scheduled for saturday night.
We stayed so busy we didn't eat much. So this morning I have to make a full breakfast.
Oh, I also got a lot more accomplished towards completing the assesment materials.
TA, ta for now. |
