• Mar. 1, 2008 - Making lists... and living by the Spirit
I'd been praying about what I would blog about as WOW so much is going on and I just don't have the time to write as much as I normally would be.
So we were reading a book from the library called Wallace's Lists and it's simplicity of story touched me.
Why not write about it?
The story brings out a few points;
1. The importance of reading and writing
2. Having goals or ideals
3. The necessity of orderliness
4. Enjoying some spontaneity
5. Learning from the adventure of life
6. The value of friendship, including others in your life
This children's story sums up what the Lord has been teaching us about walking with Him.
In our Biblical studies we are once again being blessed by the OT account of Moses and the Israelites.
1. Walking by faith not by sight.
2. Being faithful in our hearts, minds, and actions; to the Lord.
3. Waiting for the fulfillment of promises.
4. Accepting chastisement when we go astray.
5. Leadership how God uses each of us not only to encourage but also at times to test and try others.
6. Our actions do bring positive and negative consequences.
May we all walk in His ways moment by moment.
As a side note I often make major lists of plans and projects. I almost never see the way I work it out on paper come to pass though often I am on target about the need or intention for the activity. I think that I have finally learned more of enjoying the ride verses working too hard at accomplishing things My Way and that makes my life - our lives an adventure instead of a drag! |
