May Garden

• Sep. 22, 2008 - Sunday -Creation Science

This Sunday morning the children were outside and found a small tree frog on a white plastic lawn chair.
It was such a pretty pale green... see how almost white/ green he is? I wasn't quite able to capture the color in photo before it started changing to darker green hues from the handling it was getting.

The whole family had a great time observing him for at least a half hour. Even dad.

Being a wood frog he wasn't as interested in moisture as others that hide in damp places.

We discovered his suction gripping fingers and climbing ability.

He also was MUCH faster moving  than other varieties we've found.

He had a band of yellow under his back legs that was pretty when he hopped.

The children returned him to nature by putting him in the lower crook of the Maple nearby.

Nice shots of the frog. I love living in the country if for the opportunity alone of finding all sorts of wildlife to observe. My daughter wants to raise a tadpole as we were just studying frogs. We are looking into it. We know where some live, but don't know much about raising them.
