We only had one surviving watermelon as we planted it late in the growing season when we picked up a few plants on clearance. It didn't get to full maturity BUT it was very good!
Yesterday, we picked that sugar baby!

I've had many watermelon like that. This year my watermelon didn't make it at all. We had a real cold Spring and I kept checking back at the nursery and they didn't have one until it was really late (like June). I should have started them myself sooner.
