• Nov. 11, 2007 - Presidential Candidates

I had to add my excitement over Presidential Candidate Ron Paul to a blog entry!

I have been very pessimistic about the upcoming elections.

But wait I really hadn't done much reading or research either .... so what did I expect?

I just knew I wouldn't be able to vote for Hillary Clinton or Giuliani and the few others I read about did not seem promising either...

Then I was telling my on line friend about how I'd felt like there were no decent choices and I had no desire to vote. And I felt kinda anti-social to not be able to join into political discussions with any positive remarks.

She mailed me back with a comment about Ron Paul.

Wow, so far what I have read has been a HUGE encouragement!

GO HERE.

You will see he is very supportive of homeschooling families and their values

The boys both enjoy learning about the world!

Luke especially seems to have a missionary heart. He has had a real interest in China, the Orient, Asian lands and peoples.

European countries like those of the UK ...

Well I'll just say in brief they have had exposure via media to most all the peoples and lands of the world.

We find this a fun family activity.

We also have the World Book 2004 program for our computer.

We constantly are getting books and videos from the library.

The boys understand the map of  the Americas as well as the world but I haven't done exercises on identifying everyplace.

They clearly understand the distinction between the continents and bodies of water, as well as space for that matter.

We often study on say Mount Everest or one of the 7 wonders of the World.

They understand all the simple concepts like;  Maps help us to get direction when traveling. That there is a pattern in the making of neighborhoods such as blocks and roads.

They understand community concepts like a town has ... a bank, a school, a grocery, parks, etc...
