Making me smile today.. ...walking outdoors and feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin, an unusual treat this late in October. ...being able to do part of our schoolwork outdoors, one of our favorite things to do! ...the happiness shining from Ava's face when she was all dolled-up for Beggar's Night. ...the excitement that lead Lukas to walk about 3 houses ahead of us while trick-or-treating last night until we decided it was too dark, and he had to stay with us. ...Ava's pure delight as she studied a ladybug crawling on her leg. ...having my parents here to spend the day and being able to help them when I can. ...cooking healthy meals for my family. ...the smell of autumn leaves blowing in the wind and the crunch they make as I step on them. ...laundry day. I know, I know, but I need tomorrow to get the laundry done! ...the music ministry concert at church this weekend that will allow me even more time to sing with other believers!!! (6:00 on Saturday, 9:00 and 10:30 on Sunday at Grove City Church of the Nazarene) ...the thought of a dear friend's children experiencing Disney World for the first time. ...Ava making magic wands from random materials on the craft shelves while wearing her Mariposa wings with everything. ...the note that Lukas wrote to me on a heart which he cut from red construction paper and taped to the bathroom door that says, "Morning Mom! I hope we have a great day today!." I've left it taped there for three weeks, and it makes me smile several times each day. ...the outfit Ava is currently wearing. Ohio State jersey tucked into a red/black velvet skirt (think Christmas or ladybug). Pink socks. Rainbow colored shoes with a black lace overlay and sparkles. ...the fall decor on the top of my entertainment center. ...knowing that we will actually have time to rest this weekend. ...having family close-by. ...reading my sister's Facebook note about trunk-or-treat with my niece and nephews. ...the things we've learned this week, place value for Ava, cursive writing for Lukas and searching the internet together. Lukas can search for anything on Wikipedia! ...the purple, green and white cactus Ava made from homemade clay and then painted. ...the great work-outs I've been able to accomplish this week. ...knowing that when I have concerns like the ones flooding my mind right now, God is still in control and will provide everything I need even if I can't imagine how. |
