Jul. 7, 2008 - 4th of July
I'm sorry for not posting sooner but we've been very busy!
For the last few weekends we have been "escaping the heat" by going to our favorite campground in the mountains. It's about 15 to 20 degrees cooler there, which is still about 95! Today at home is was 106 which is a pretty cool day. My church had VBS two weeks ago, I had a blast! I lead a group of some really funny kids! Right after the last night of VBS we left for the mountains, my sisters were soaking wet for the long drive up there! We spent most of Independence Day at the campground. The girls participated in the campgrounds little parade and they decorated their bikes with as much ribbon as they could manage. Later in the afternoon we went to a parade in town, it was really hot out! We were not able to set off any fireworks because they are illegal, but we still had a lot of fun.
My mom found a really neat article on the men who signed the Declaration of Independence and what they had to sacrifice; hopefully I will be able to post it later.

Wow, ,sounds like you had fun!
And your summer sounds like mine...HOT!!! So, i know how you feel.
Ah, I love VBS, but unfortunately our church does not do VBS, tis sad I know.
