Greetings from Me and My House,
Just as I said about chocolate
- it goes better with caramel/peanut butter/toffee - the same goes for
coffee. It's best when a lot of milk and syrup (preferably candy
bar flavors) has a hint of coffee flavor. I love the
smell and the taste is ok when it is covered heavily, but unlike my "friends and family"
I'm not a coffee drinker. Besides the stuff will kill you.
So on the rare occasion - like when a friend is moving, or a daughter
comes to visit, or we go out of town, or I just get a hankerin' -
really, this is pretty rare, maybe a dozen or so times a year - I will
indulge in a cappacino. I blamed my last coffee binge on my friend,
but the latest was just a hankerin'. Kids with colds, and baby
cutting teeth have made for sleepless nights lately. And rather
than grabbing a cool, refreshing pick-me-up of BarleyLife, I WANTED coffee. (That was the first problem.)
DH was heading out to the auto parts store and asked if I needed anything. I said a large latte. He said he doesn't drive through coffee shops. So that was the end of the conversation, before I could tell him what KIND of coffee I had a hankerin' for. But....
He asked our daughter what I usually get, so he could surprise
me. She told him the only thing she had ever heard me mention
that I had got ONE time, and he came home with it. Well....
It wasn't what I had a hankerin' for, and was quite COFFEE
STRONG. But I made it through - and it was quite sweet of him. Last
night was no different than the preceding ones, except ON TOP OF
having a restless baby keeping me up (and the coffee keeping my
nursling from sleeping well??) the foreign substance was doing its work
on me too. I saw 5 am roll around before my eyelids closed - only
to be awakened by baby bear 2 more times before crawling out of bed at
8:30. So...
still, yet another lame blog this week. But I got lots of
Bookmarks (of infrequently read blogs) made last night - and saw how
badly my email folders need a good housecleaning. Perhaps I'll go make that BarleyLife and purge the nasty stuff
from my system, and get a GOOD boost for the day. God, You know I
need it. Then maybe I can get back to writing more substantial
posts. I'd try to make a good
Biblical principles/theological application to this story - but I'm
coming down fast and hard. That's right - cappacino is a double
whammy, coffee AND sugar! Off to make that yummy, green,
grass-tasting BarleyLife. And... Don't even ask about all the
links today - who knows? At Jesus' feet, Lisa @Me and My House Blogging Here and There Order Christian and Home Ed Resources Here
