It's hard to believe, but we are due for our biggest snowstorm of the season tomorrow and Saturday! Looks like we'll be throwing another log in the fireplace. It's inspired me to write a little poetry.
Winter's Long Reach
A peek of Spring, such a little thing,
Yet hope fills hearts around.
A warm air blows, a sign of green,
Sunshine my cheeks have found.
But what's this word, a chilly tale,
I feel a shiver rising, just how.
But spare me truth, I know this too,
Winter's long reach is now.
Spring will wait, I know it will,
'Til winter has had it's last.
Cold fun will fade and give away,
To blossoms and bees so fast.
Back out warm blanket, stoke up the fire,
Pour hot tea and sit close by.
Winter's not through, it's coming back soon,
To reach out and say goodbye.
