I'm beginning into a new exciting season for myself, a season of changes, and especially a season of new beginnings. I feel the Lord leading me down new more dedicated pathways, and it has been a long process in getting here. For awhile now I've been in a state of limbo, not seeming to move forward in anything. But now, the rusty wheels have started to turn again and I feel a new horizon of growth dawning!
"You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
~Ephesians 4:20-24
So, in celebration of this new season of my life, I'm sensing a change of name for my home here in blogland. When I originally started this blog, I simply used the name that we use for our homeschool. However, since becoming a regular blogger, I'm realizing that I'd like to use something that more acurately relates to where I personally hear and see God the most vivid....IN NATURE. This change will not affect my internet address, just simply the name you see at the top of my blog.
OK, so I've read through the Psalms and have been touched by several Scriptures involving God's creation. Here are two ideas so far for a new blog name:
In The Sparrow's Nest
"1 How lovely is your dwelling place,
O LORD Almighty!
2 My soul yearns, even faints,
for the courts of the LORD;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.
3 Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young—
a place near your altar,
O LORD Almighty, my King and my God.
4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.
~ Psalm 84 1-4
*this one means a lot because of my special love for birds
By Streams of Water
1 As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
~ Psalm 42:1-2
*this one is especially meaningful because we have a beautiful creek in our backyard
So there you have it. If you're willing, I'd love to hear from you which one you like the best, and/or any other suggestions if you are aware of any other "nature related" verses which might fit well.
