My Humble Life.....

• Nov. 14, 2006 - Fall Weather is Finally Here! And a Funny Story, Too! Yay!!!

Hello all of you wonderful ladies!!!

Good day to all of you on this wonderful, awesome, spectacular, crisp, cool, fresh, colorful, sunny day! Ahhh, what a day. A blessed day! I feel so revived. Had a great night's sleep. Gave the cat a bath last night. He has allergies and his skin and hair gets messed up from it, so I have to give him a bath with some medicated shampoo. He's such a big, huge, flame point Siamese boy. His name is Barry. He's just a big lumbering teddy bear of a sweet heart. Not a mean bone in his big ol' body. So anyways, he's so good and never throws a hissy fit when he gets his meds and his bath. Well, last night was a tad chillier of a night than the norm and so I made sure his bath water was warm and cozy. He did great with the bath, even when he has to stand there with the shampoo soaking in his skin and coat for 10 minutes before I rinse him off. Not your typical cat, as any other feline would freak out and take off out of the tub, leaving a trail of water and soap behind him. Anyways, I towel dry him off and he decided he didn't want me to finish drying him off anymore, which he never does. He always lets me towel dry him, then blow dry him till he's completely dry, but not last night and so he lumbers off to finish licking himself dry. But a few minutes later, I hear him howling at me loudly and very pitifully. Because it was a colder night, I guess he changed his mind and wanted me to finish towel drying him and then blow him with my hair dryer. He loves that. So, he hops in my lap and lays there, howling and crying up at me, so sad. ROFL. Okay, maybe you are thinking I am mean for laughing at him, but he was really putting on a show of being so pituful! His situation was way better than he was putting on. Believe me. He was acting like he was dying or something! Drama King, that he is. Hehe. So, I finish drying the big doofus off, then I blow dry and brush him dry. He's warm and snuggly, now. But, he still wanted me to know how aweful it was for him to be cold and damp before, so he kept lying all over me on the couch meowing up at me with the biggest most pitiful as he could look, or fake it, blue crossed siamese eyes. LOL. So, to make him know I loved him and felt, oh so sorry for him and his traumatic experience, I take my blanket and swaddle him up in it and prop up a pillow under his big ol' head to make him comfy. He starts to purr and is happy with me for fussing over him. Lol. Of course, my lil' daschund doggie got a big kick out of the kitty wrapped up in the blanket and so she gets up on the couch and suggles right next to him. They love each other, BTW.

I just thought that was so funny, last night, my daughter's cat, Barry, throwing a huge pitiful fuss show, I wanted to share with you gals! Now, I wish I had gotten a picture of him all swaddled in the blanket with the pillow under his head. He acts like such a spoiled brat sometimes, hehe. Well, not in a mean way, but in a drama king sort of way. Lol.

Well, anyways, I am on my lunch break with my daughter from school and we will start back up in about half an hour, so I am gonna hop off here and get some lunch while I still can! I hope all of you are having a wonderful and blessed day! Hugs to you all!

Oh my what a King you have there. LOL. Siamese cats are cool. (I'm not a cat person, but I'll admit that I like Siamese cats.)

When I was growing up we had a Siamese cat named Tiki Tabi. She was that way too. They can be quite the talkers also. LOL

Have a great day!
Hugs,
Di

Hi there!! Thank you for coming to my blog. I made you my friend and that was so cute what you said "pretty please with sugar on top?" I couldn't resist. I was hoping I could be your friend.

So anyway that was a cute story about your daughters cat Barry. Isn't it amazing the different personalities these animals have?

Well talk to you later

Yes, we have one dog and she is a chocolate lab. Her name is Sam. She is a great dog. She is real good with the kids. I don't know if she is a good guard dog though. Because everytime someone would come to the door she wags her tale and wants to lick them to death. I know when the time is right she will be protective us. I tried talking my dh to get a cat because dd said that she would like to have one. But it didn't work. dh only wants one pet for now.

I wasn't all excited about blogging but now that I have some friends to talk to it's going to be great. This blogging thing can get addicting you know? I am constantly looking to see if someone posted a comment. That goes with the other mess. board. It's crazy I can't get anything done. I have company coming over tonight at 6 and still need to clean.

I am doing great! I hope you are doing good. How are things at your house? Do you get to talk to you dh everyday? That would be great if you did.

Hugs~Tiffers

ROFL at your silly cat! I'll have to post a pic of our new kitten curled up with our chihuahua on my blog...too cute. They act like brother/sister playing and fussin' at each other over who gets the dropped scraps from the kids.
Talk to ya soon!

awe, sounds like we need a picture of that! LOL What fun!
we used to have a cat that loved to bath - I thought it was the oddest thing! He'd actually get into the shower with me or sit on a bath pillow floating in the water when I had a bath. (it's been quite a while since I've had the time to have a bath... thinking about it, tho, sounds wonderful... ok, I got off topic, sorry! lol)

Have a great evening!

When I was still single, I had a cat named Zoe for a while. She was a dear little thing. She loved to cuddle, and when I would take a bath she would stick her nose under the 2 inch gap in the door to peek at me. I finally started leaving the door open because she was so lonely, and I lived alone, and she would come in and put her paws up on the side of the tub and watch me. It was a little unnerving at first, but she was just lonely, and wanted to be with me. I would splash her a couple times, and she'd take off running. She was a cutie. I couldn't keep her for long, but she was fun while I had her.

You're getting quite a friends list here my dear. It took me quite some time to build mine up. You're doing great! I tell you....it's that sweet, infectious spirit. people can't resist it! Hope you're doing well today....My hubby is home, and I got a big bear hug, and I'm feeling much better. I'm praying that the day will come quickly when you get your next big hubby bear hug! TTYL.....

Love, Kathy

The whole time I was reading this I kept thinking, "I can't believe her cat would let her do that." We put some foo-foo spray on our cats that is supposed to decrease dander. They don't even have to go in the water. We spray the spray on a towel and rub the towel on their fur. Neither cat undergoes this "torture" willingly. You have to close all the bedroom doors, block the way to the basement, catch the cat... you get the picture.

Tonight my husband and Marissa talked about how to figure out the density of a cat. The formula for density is mass divided by volume. You should have heard their ideas for submerging the cat in the bathtub to see how much water the cat displaced... twisted!

Oh, Marissa thought your legs looked so long in that picture. She really wants to have long legs when she is finished growing. Marissa is just shy of 5 feet and she wants to be model tall. We don't know what her genetic potential is because we don't know how tall her dad is. Her mom is about the same height as me. She is already 14 years and 8 months ~ so it is not looking too promising! But, she would be satisfied if she just passed me up.

Awwwwe! He sounds too cute! He's got you wrapped around his little paw. :)
I miss cats....my sweet little girl is somewhat afraid of them. But I get to play with the neighbors when they come for a visit. They love our yard for some reason, probably my husband, he is a cat magnet....I'm serious! They love him! Well, cats ARE smart...they must have a sixth sense of how sweet he is!! :)
Big Hugs :)
