Hello ladies! How was everyone's weekend? Sunday was an eventful day. I had to do the nursery in the a.m., and since my partner who was supposed to help me out, didn't show, it was interesting. Lol. Let's just say, don't drink any soft drinks when you are the only one watching the wee ones, because you don't have the luxury of getting to "go" when you want, but rather hold it till you pop! Lol. Just some friendly future advice! But, all in all, it went okay. The kids were pretty well behaved, save for a lil' bully who kept stirring up some drama with all the kids.
It was a good Sunday, though. I even got an afternoon nap in after lunch, which, is rare for me, but I didn't get much sleep the night before, 'cause my lil' punkin' kept having nightmares. She's okay though!
So, I was thinking. My cat, Barry, the one you all know as the "Drama King" needs a buddy to share his drama with. Lol. Sure, Barry and Lacee, our dog, are buddies, but nothing beats having another feline friend to share your drama filled days with. So, off to the shelter we go this morning. We can do that, 'cause, well, we homeschool! Hehe. Besides' it's a really short and light week for school. I checked online with petfinder.com, and found a kitty cat who was on the urgent list and was going to be euthanized in a couple days. Oh! I can't handle that! So, we literally rushed to the shelter, after calling to make sure he was till there, waiting patiently to die, I guess, and they said he wasn't adopted yet. So, we got there and got a look at him and I fell in love. His name was Kiki. Okay, that's a pretty girly name, for a boy cat, don't you think? Yep, they actually mistook him for a girl! Hehe, so we got that straightened out and we renamed him Dudley, 'cause he looks like a Dudley with his sweet face and affectionate charcter, beautiful, long, orange tabby main and gold eyes to match his coat. Very pretty inside and out. What a waste that would have been and sadly, it happens too often to animals, but we saved one today! We didn't take him home today, 'cause he needs to be fixed, so tomorrow, we will pick him up, then take him to our vet to get his vaccinations and testings and what not. He's still a boy, but very soon after his neuter, he's gonna meow like a cat named Kiki! Hehe. ROFL, I laugh at my own lame jokes! Sorry, bear with me.
My daughter's so excited about having another and final pet to join our family. Only children need lots of pets, I think. Three's the max, though! Dudley, will prolly be running circles around dear Barry, since Barry's so laid back and mello, while Dudley still has a lot of friskey kitten in him. Should be fun to watch the pets get to know each other and become buddies. I was surprised at how fast our dog and cat got to be buddies. A matter of two weeks, in fact. So, I have high hopes that we could be successful with Dudley becoming friends with the other two. Our current Drama King and our dog Lacee are so good with other animals, so I am looking forward to this. It's a sad story on Dudley. Someone just threw him out! Breaks my heart.....
Well, I seem to be telling a lot of cat stories lately. "What's with that?", you are prolly thinking. And, "Wow, this lady sure loves cats! That's just wierd...I wonder if she's gonna end up like one of those old ladies who lives with 50 cats and dogs in her home?" Lol.....But, I know my limit. lol.
I am actually just very passionate about animals in general. I love cats, dogs, horses, cattle (yes, cattle. I raised and showed them growing up) and any other cute and furry critter, wild or domestic. My mom was a veterinary assistant for 13 years and I think she instilled that into me, not to mention growing up on a ranch/farm. I am studying to be a vet's assistant this coming semester, to follow in my mom's footsteps. So, cat's, dogs, and lots more talk on my lovable pets will come up in the future! So get ready gals! Hehehe.
What is everyone's plans for Thanksgiving? I would love to know!
I am going over to a friend's house to spend Thanksgiving with her family. There are supposed to be lots of ppl, so I am looking forward to yummy good food and wearing a long shirt, so I can unbuckle my pants for extra room for dessert! Lol. I am bringing over a rice broccoli cheese cassarole and maybe some soft drinks.
Oh! We put up our Christmas tree Saturday night and then we put on quite a few oranments last night. Tonight, we have more ornaments and decorations to put up, too, so we are having lots of fun listening to holiday music and putting up oranments and decos and watching a few holiday movies, too. Ahhhh, I do love the holidays! I may simmer some apple cinnamon on the stove to fill the house with holiday scents. What does everyone else do to get in the holiday spirit? What are your Christmas tree colors going to be? We went for silver and gold ornaments with white lights this year.
Whew! I sure had some catching up to do! Are your eyes crossed from all this reading? Lol. Mine are crossed from just typing.
Well, I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed day! Hugs to everyone!
